Brittney, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
You’ll hear a TON of branding professionals harp on having a niche. I don’t think this is a bad thing per se because niching down has its merits. However, there’s a lot to be said for being a jack-of-all-trades in the branding game. I believe the real magic is in being multifaceted within your brand. I look at it like this, when you go to see a magician do you think you’d be satisfied just watching them pull a coin from behind your ear? No! You’d want to see what else they’ve got up their sleeve. Branding is the same way.

Brittney Murray, is a brand strategist, entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Mogul Behaviour a full-service branding and digital marketing firm located in Los Angeles, CA. She helps businesses grow their brand, audience, impact and influence. Prior to founding Mogul Behaviour, Brittney excelled as a senior-level television professional. She is a native of San Diego, CA; she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Television, Film, Communications and Directing from San Diego State University.
Brittney has years of experience as a creative and business strategist. She integrates her passion for branding content, keen sense of business and acumen of digital marketing to propel business to excellence.
In addition to owning and operating Mogul Behaviour, Brittney also owns and operates Mogul Studios, a Los Angeles based photography studio and event space. She runs a full service photography business, where she’s won multiple awards and hosts mastermind programs to teach individuals and business owners basic branding and social media concepts.
She is also the co-founder of the Pillars of Prosperity Foundation, host of the “Mogul Chat” Podcast, where she discusses the entrepreneurial journey, interviews business-owners, and dives deep into what it takes to become a mogul. If that wasn’t enough she also serves as Board Member and Chief Marketing Officer for Suzzette Capital, a Private Equity Fund; Director of Branding for production company, Ron Ash, LLC and ▪︎Co-producer of the film “Love the Skin You’re In. ### **The Birth of the Mogul Box**
Mogul Box began as a subscription box concept, an idea brimming with potential. We envisioned curating exclusive, high-quality products that would cater to aspiring entrepreneurs and visibility challenges, charitable partnerships, local business highlights and more. The launch was met with enthusiasm, and for a while, it seemed like we were on the right track. Given that my subscription box business was bootstrapped I had put everything I had into it, using my full time job to help fund my side hustle.
However, as products and shipping became more expensive and the initial excitement waned, we noticed a pattern emerging. Our customers were seeking something more profound than a box of physical items. They craved knowledge, guidance, and support on their entrepreneurial journeys. It was time for us to reassess our approach. Our inbox and DM’s were littered with questions and asking for one on one help.
### **Listening to Our Customers**
Rather than sticking to our initial vision, we decided to do something revolutionary—listen to our customers. We engaged in conversations, conducted surveys, and sought feedback from our subscribers. What we discovered was both eye-opening and inspiring.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My life was a whirlwind of challenges and triumphs, with each twist and turn shaping me into the resilient businesswoman and devoted mother I am today.
Picture this: I was not only navigating the intricacies of entrepreneurship but also embracing the role of a mother to a toddler and a newborn. The joy of welcoming a new life into the world in January of 2023 was accompanied by the shadow of a daunting obstacle we are still battling today—a blood clot in my baby’s brain.
Storytime: The journey into motherhood had not been easy. It was a hot mess from the very beginning. A difficult pregnancy, appendicitis surgery while 5 months pregnant, and hemorrhaging after my C-section resulting in multiple blood transfusions and a near death experience saying I was tested is an understatement! These events had tested both my physical and emotional strength. Yet, when my newborn son arrived, fragile and vulnerable, his tiny existence became the center of my universe.
Just as I was adjusting to the sleepless nights and the sweet chaos of motherhood, life threw another curveball. At just barely 2 months of age my son experienced an event where literally turned blue, bled from his nose, had aspirational pneumonia, and a blood clot in his arm, leg, and brain which led to sirens and hospitalization for just shy of two weeks. If not traumatizing enough my c-section scar, a reminder of the sacrifice and determination it took to bring my children into the world, unexpectedly reopened. It was as if the universe wanted to see just how resilient I could be. I joked that I needed to call God’s customer service because there must have certainly been a mixup where they said “Oh, Brittney can handle way more, let’s give her the premium bunch of scary chaos plan.” I needed to downgrade that subscription.
Amidst the backdrop of personal challenges, the world was grappling with a pandemic. The uncertainties and fears of the global crisis we barely crawled out of loomed large, adding an extra layer of complexity to my journey. Yet, I knew I couldn’t let these adversities define me. I was determined to thrive, as a wife, mother, philanthropist and as an entrepreneur.
In 2021 the decision to move to a new city. The prospect of uprooting our lives was daunting, but we saw it as an opportunity for growth and home ownership. Just as I had learned to adapt in my business, I embraced the idea of adapting to a new environment, with my children’s future in mind.
As an entrepreneur, I channeled these experiences into my work. They reminded me that resilience wasn’t just a buzzword; it was a way of life. It shaped my approach to business, teaching me that setbacks were not obstacles but stepping stones to success.
Each client I served, each project I undertook, carried with it the lessons of resilience learned from the most profound moments of my life. I understood the value of listening to clients, of empathizing with their struggles, and of helping them overcome obstacles just as I had overcome my own.
Today, as I reflect on my journey as a service-based entrepreneur, I carry with me the strength forged through adversity. I am not just a businesswoman; I am a mother, a survivor, and a testament to the power of resilience. My journey is a reminder that life may throw us unexpected challenges, but it is our response to them that defines who we become. And I choose to be a beacon of resilience, both for my family and for the clients I serve.
