We recently connected with Brittney McDade and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Although my parents were absolutely able to for the majority of my childhood, they never gave us anything. High expectations were set and expected to be met before awarding us with “wants” vs. our “needs”. Hard work and discipline were instilled in me at an early age.
They also used the word “no” very often. I feel it isn’t used enough in this generation of parenting. The no you received will always make room for bigger and better blessings.

Brittney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a sports, health, and fitness enthusiast. I earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health and my M.Ed.
I began my professional path in corporate health and fitness. I was in education as a PE/Health teacher and Coach for over a decade and I’m also a certified PT and Performance Enhancement Specialist.
Over the years I’ve helped people find convenient ways to incorporate health and fitness changes that will lead to a permanent, improved lifestyle. Self care is a series of tough decisions but you have to prioritize your present health and happiness over your past.
Smart Drinks Austin is the definition of convenient health. At least once during the day, you can have a fresh fruit smoothie, a gourmet coffee, or herbal tea delivered via my mobile food truck. Supplements, veggies, non-dairy, and sugar free options are also available.
I’m very proud of the challenges I’ve overcome and the positive connections made as a mother, woman, and business owner. Faith, discipline, patience as an individual will help you grow through life and experiences. Having a village of other passionate professionals and encouraging adults will also be important in order to succeed and make a difference.
I will always remain grateful for the support and guidance I have received in the past and in the future.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
You have to be flexible and be able to adapt to your surroundings. Improvise, overcome, and remain resilient. Even if the business fails, you gain the wisdom necessary for your next venture.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I would absolutely take this journey all over again. I know who I am and my passion remains intact
