We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Guimond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
There is a special beauty that weaves our paths. For as long as I could remember, I wanted to be a teacher. I pursued schooling to become an educator for children right after I graduated high school. I worked in the field for about 4 years and through this path, I was brought deeply into my heart from little preschoolers who had such a bright look on life. During this time I was also pursuing spiritual studies from yoga, meditation, reiki to the feminine mysteries on the side. I brought some of this passion for this new path into my work, though I soon realized there was a new purpose I was ready to devote to. As a Teacher of Feminine Spirituality, Leadership and Embodiment now; I can see how deeply similar these 2 paths really are. Working with children brought me into my heart, compassion and ability to embody the “Mother” Archetype as I held space for their growth. These are all things I hold now as I guide women. The lesson learned here was it doesn’t matter *what* we do, it’s the soul essence we hold and bring towards it. No matter what my path has brought me, my service has always been to bring myself and other’s closer to love and their truth.
Brittney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an entrepreneur, I enjoy holding my many different desires and passions simultaneously. Though, the core of my service is to support women in feeling one with their Wombs, Bodies, Feminine Power and the Earth that holds them. My path first started by me exploring many spiritual modalities and teachings, which then led me to the ancient workings of Feminine Mysteries, Womb Work & Body Wisdom. Both my mother and grandmother have always held a close connection to spirit, and I feel this is why the path found my rather earlier in my life. I am really proud of the way I allow the deeper truth to speak through me, adjusting my offerings to what I feel is of highest service in that moment. I’ve held a deep level of devotion to this path, with the knowing that because it is a non-traditional path, people may not always understand it. I’ve had to remember what I am in service TO whenever I let any doubt creep in. I feel so humbled and grateful to be doing this work during such a complex, revolutionary time on Earth. In so many directions, we can clearly see the Feminine is Rising (beyond gender). We are feeling called to centre our emotions, bodies and connection to earth more and more through the hardships many of us have faced the last 2 years. I currently provide private 6-month mentorship containers to support women who desire to deepen on the path of Feminine Embodiment, as well as Womb Sessions (online or in person), Women’s Circles & Retreats and Embodiment Photography (@womynwithheart).
Integrity is really important to me. I have a deep trust in what comes through me and how I teach and share it, though having mentors and teachers hold me is something I always prioritize and invest in. I’ve had the privilege to study around the world learning things like Hatha Yoga, Neo-Tantra & Sacred Sexuality, Ritual Arts, BodyWork, Feminine Mystery Schools, Herbalism and sharing space with elders from different cultures whom have etched deep wisdom into my heart.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
One of the biggest things doing this work has been leaning into the “sister wounds” many of us carry in order to evolve further on this path. Growing up, I’d see movies of girls and women living in hierarchy to one another — the mean girl archetypes were often very glorified and seen as loveable and popular! I’ve built deeper recognition and support within my market of support by COLLABORATING with other women. I hold strong relationships with other women doing similar work to me, backing each other and speaking on ways we can together overcome the colonial ways we’ve inherited that has made us feel like we have to be against each other. The amount of opportunities that flow in when we let each other in and actually care about each other speaks volumes!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In the world of self-development and spirituality, I did not see a lot of people whom look like me when first joining events and communities which was hard at times. As a woman of colour, I found it so important to have other women on this path who share similar heritage, stories and lineage. I decided to host my first women’s circle, centering the experiences of other mixed race women in Toronto. We did embodiment practices, sharing, rituals and so forth and it supported me in seeing how important this is. Uncovering my own lineages and sharing the mythos and wisdom that stem from there is something I am now very passionate about.
