We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittney Goddard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittney below.
Brittney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
For nearly 20 years, I worked as a registered nurse, caring for patients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I believed I understood health, wellness, and resilience because I witnessed them every day at the bedside.
That changed when I was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer.
For the first time in my career, I was no longer the caregiver, I was the patient. Suddenly, I wasn’t helping someone else navigate fear, uncertainty, scans, treatments, and difficult decisions. I was living it myself.
The diagnosis forced me to confront questions I had never faced in the same way before. As a wife and mother, my greatest fears weren’t about treatment itself. They were about my family. Would I watch my children reach important milestones? Would I grow old with my husband? What would the future look like?
One night, overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, I fell to my knees in prayer and asked God for peace. What followed was a defining moment that changed not only my personal life but also the trajectory of my career. I experienced a peace that I cannot fully explain, a peace that carried me through treatment, surgery, and recovery.
Cancer taught me that true wellness is about much more than physical health. It includes faith, mindset, purpose, relationships, and the daily choices we make to care for our body, mind, and spirit.
That realization ultimately led me to create Fear Not Living, a faith-based wellness brand dedicated to helping others live intentionally and choose faith over fear. While nursing taught me how to care for people physically, my cancer journey taught me how important it is to care for the whole person.
Looking back, what seemed like the most difficult season of my life became the defining moment that revealed a new purpose, helping others find hope, wellness, and courage in their own journeys.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Fear Not Living was created to encourage people to slow down, be present, and prioritize wellness in practical and meaningful ways. Our product line includes hand-blended loose-leaf teas made with thoughtfully selected ingredients, along with inspirational products and educational content that promote intentional living.
One of the growing trends I have witnessed is that consumers are becoming far more aware of what they put in and around their bodies. People are reading labels, questioning ingredients, reducing exposure to unnecessary chemicals, and seeking healthier, more natural alternatives. They want products that align with their values and support a healthier lifestyle.
That commitment to intentional wellness is reflected throughout our brand. Our teas are made with carefully selected herbs and botanicals without artificial flavors. We use loose-leaf tea rather than conventional tea bags because many consumers are concerned about microplastics and other materials commonly found in tea bags. We also prioritize plastic-free packaging because we believe wellness should extend beyond what we consume to how products are sourced, packaged, and used.
What makes Fear Not Living different is that we are not simply selling tea. We are encouraging a lifestyle built around intentional daily rituals. Whether it’s beginning the day with prayer, enjoying a cup of tea, spending time outdoors, practicing gratitude, or creating moments of rest in a busy schedule, we believe small daily choices can have a profound impact on overall well-being.
What I am most proud of is building a brand that reflects my values of faith, wellness, courage, and intentional living. My goal is to continue growing Fear Not Living into a trusted wellness community that helps people make healthier choices, live with greater purpose, and choose faith over fear every day.
At its heart, Fear Not Living is about helping people move from surviving to truly thriving.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely.
If I could go back, I would still choose nursing without hesitation. Nursing gave me the opportunity to serve others during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. It taught me compassion, critical thinking, resilience, and the importance of treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. The relationships I built with patients and families remain some of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
What I didn’t know when I started my nursing career was that it would eventually prepare me to become an entrepreneur. Nursing taught me to listen, educate, problem-solve, advocate, and lead under pressure, skills that have been invaluable in building a business.
While I still consider myself a nurse at heart, I have also discovered a passion for creating and building something of my own. Founding Fear Not Living has allowed me to combine my healthcare background, faith, wellness philosophy, and desire to help others in a different way.
If I could go back, I wouldn’t change my profession. I would simply tell my younger self to remain open to where the journey might lead. Sometimes the experiences that seem unrelated at the time become the very things that prepare you for your next chapter.
Nursing was my first calling. Entrepreneurship became an extension of that calling. Both are centered on helping people live healthier, more meaningful lives, and for that reason, I am grateful for every step of the journey.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
While training and knowledge are important, I believe the qualities that matter most are perseverance, authenticity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for serving others.
In today’s world, information is everywhere. Most people can learn the technical aspects of a profession or business. What separates successful people is their willingness to keep going when things don’t happen as quickly as they hoped. Building a business requires patience, consistency, and the ability to learn from setbacks rather than be discouraged by them.
I also believe authenticity is essential. People are looking for brands and leaders they can trust. They want to know the person behind the business and understand the values that drive it. When you stay true to your mission and operate with integrity, you build relationships that last far beyond a single transaction.
Another important quality is the willingness to continually learn and adapt. Consumer needs, technology, and industries are constantly evolving. The most successful entrepreneurs remain curious, listen to their customers, and are willing to grow.
For me, faith has also been a guiding principle. It provides perspective during challenges and reminds me that success is not just about building a business, but about making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
At the end of the day, I believe people succeed when they combine knowledge with perseverance, purpose, and a genuine desire to serve. Those qualities have been just as important as any formal education or training throughout my career.
