We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Espiritu recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Brittney thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Opening my store Storm Kalmerz in a religious town was definitely a risk. I had been running it online for 5 years, but decided that now would be the best time to open up a physical location. I knew there would be some backlash, but I went ahead with it anyway. Luckily, over time more and more people have been receptive of my store being in their town.

Now I’m the go to store in town for all things spiritual.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Brittney, but people usually call me Storm. As the founder and CEO of Storm Kalmerz, my mission is to bring awareness to the storms that arise in peoples’ lives and give them options to heal those storms. Our motto is “The Kalm After the Storm” through spiritual practices such as meditation, sacred teas, healing with crystals, and more.

After battling my own spiritual woes and anxiety, Storm Kalmerz was founded in 2018. We’ve opened our doors with a physical location in 2022. I’ve taken inspiration from sacred healing practices involving plants,
and have been able to help people nationwide as well as internationally. It is an honor to be in a position where I can use my magical gifts to help heal others.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

As a professional spiritualist, it is important to be able to use your gifts to attract clients. People are often intrigued by the spiritual side of life, but can also be skeptical. A great way to show them that you are the real deal is to tell them something that only they would know. This will pique their interest and make them want to know more about the afterlife. Once you have made contact with their personal spirit guide, you can start to provide services that will keep them coming back for more.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

There are several things that I had to unlearn in order to be successful. The main thing is to not have preconceived thoughts about what is spiritual in a spiritual based business. Everything is connected and no one thing is better than the other. This means that businesses should take their time and flow with the tide. Forcing a business to work will not work because everything happens as it should on its own time. Stress is the reason why businesses don’t grow, so it’s important to have a plan and flow freely. This is how you become successful.
