We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittney Daniels a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brittney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I started my Accessories business 5 years ago. At the time I had been helping my best friend with her small business and was intrigued with how beautiful and affordable her products were. At the time I was content with my career but wanted something else. After being her social media publicist for a month I decided to venture out and become an accessories independent consultant myself. If I could have, I would definitely have started my business sooner. Though the company is young, it has become very success in the last 10 years. By starting sooner I could have had an opportunity to see the company grow from its roots and I also could have become more successful as well.
Brittney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I go by the name Blingin Britt. I am an independent consultant for Paparazzi- a company that provides afford accessories and jewelry for women, men and youth with the price point being $5.00. After helping my best friend with her business for a month, I decided I too wanted a piece of the “jewelry pie”. I started my business shortly afterwards and started making residual income. With my business, I get opportunities to assist my customers with accessorizing for everyday looks, special events and in between. What sets me apart is that I am very personable . I’m a people person and believe in my product. I am here to individualize each customer’s experience and help them feel valued and seen. Since starting my company over five years I wear my inventory everyday. This in return helps me make passive sells to faithful and new customers. Some thing I would like potential customers to know is that there is an accessory for every look, activity, event or occasion. However you want to style your attire I will assist you with ideas, suggestions and how to. make a lasting impression.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Once I started my business, I started going Live immediately on Facebook. I had never went live before, and I had to learn through trial and error how to make it work for me. I remember the first time I went live I was so nervous. No one really came on during the broadcast and I felt a little discouraged. I then started trying to add background music and found out that I could not do that because I didn’t have a license for it. As time went on I started making my weekly Lives fun and entertaining with games, trivia questions and different themes. As time went on my viewers increased and so did my profits. If I could give any of ice to someone who’s getting started, I would advise them to not give up, keep trying believe in yourself and things will work out. I learn personally, even when it looks as if no one is watching on social media someone is. And those are the people who will be here most loyal customers. Remember , Rome was not built in one day and neither will your business. Keep striving and you’ll see how much success you can reach!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One of the main things that has help me build my reputation within this market is consistency. When I started out five years ago in my business, I was going Live maybe twice a week. Once I increase my Live shows to five days a week, wore my jewelry every single day and shared it with people everywhere I went, I noticed my clientele increased, and so did my profits.
