Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittney Coleman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I took the biggest risk of my life while I was pregnant. I found out I was being cheated on. I was carrying life inside of me, while the life I had planned was falling apart. I had every reason to stay quiet, settle, and “keep the peace.”
But I didn’t. I chose me. I walked away. No plan B. No safety net. Just me, a broken heart, swollen ankles and all, knowing I deserved better—even if I didn’t know what “better” looked like yet.
That decision didn’t feel brave at the time. It felt terrifying.
I had no idea how I’d balance being a new mom, working in the food industry, healing, and still trying to show up for myself.
But here’s what I learned:
Choosing yourself is always a risk. But staying small is the biggest one of all. Since then, I’ve built something real—from content creation and coaching to raising my daughter with joy and purpose. I’m not perfect, but I’m in my power. I’m telling you this because you might be sitting in the middle of your own storm, thinking the risk is too big but sometimes, the real risk is staying stuck.
You don’t have to have it all figured out—just be bold enough to take the first step.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a single mom, content creator, wellness coach, and bold believer that you don’t have to choose between surviving motherhood and thriving as a woman.
I got into this space during one of the hardest seasons of my life. While pregnant with my daughter, I found out I was being cheated on. That moment flipped everything. I made the scariest choice of all: to start over, alone—but on my own terms.
With no blueprint, just grit and God’s grace, I started sharing my journey online. I began showing what real life looked like—balancing bottles and business, diapers and deadlines. I leaned into my love for wellness, cooking, and creating, and started building a brand that serves the version of me who once felt like she was drowning.
Today, I help busy, overwhelmed single moms reclaim their time, energy, and confidence through:
• Custom meal prep guides that make eating well doable
• Fitness & wellness content that fits real-life schedules
• Coaching & content that empowers women to show up fully—messy, magical, and unapologetic
• Brand collaborations that celebrate motherhood, wellness, beauty, and boss energy
What sets me apart?
I live this. I’m not selling a fantasy. I’m showing you how to glow through the real. My brand is where healing meets hustle—where single moms see what’s possible, and feel supported while chasing it.
What I’m most proud of?
Raising a happy daughter while building a purpose-led business from scratch. Turning pain into power. And showing other moms that they can, too.
If you’re here, I want you to know: you don’t have to have it all together. You just need to start. I’m living proof that from broken, you can bloom.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Being real and relatable.
Showing up as me—a single mom trying to stay healthy, heal, and hustle—has been the biggest game changer. The more I shared the behind-the-scenes of my life (messy kitchen, toddler tantrums, solo wins, and all), the more my audience felt connected to me.
But connection isn’t enough—you also need strategy. So here’s what’s actually worked for me:
1. Niche content that solves a real problem
Busy moms don’t need more fluff. They need quick meals, time-saving tips, encouragement, and products that actually work. I create content that speaks directly to those pain points and makes their life easier. That’s how I turn followers into clients.
2. Consistency over perfection
I stopped waiting to have the perfect lighting, perfect captions, or perfect timing. I post even when I’m tired, because showing up consistently is what builds trust—and trust is what gets sales.
3. Using storytelling to sell
Whether it’s a meal guide, a fitness tip, or a brand collab, I always lead with a story. People remember stories, not sales pitches. When I show why something matters to me as a mom, other moms listen—and often buy in.
4. Building personal relationships
DMs. Comments. Voice notes. I treat my audience like my homegirls, not just numbers. That creates loyal clients who feel seen, supported, and ready to buy or book.
At the end of the day, the most effective strategy has been this: I’m not trying to be an influencer—I’m trying to be a solution.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Resilience. Period.
You can have all the knowledge, certifications, and training in the world, but if you don’t know how to keep going when it’s not cute, not easy, and not paying off yet—you’ll burn out fast.
Content creation and coaching—especially in the mom and wellness space—is not for the faint of heart. You’re balancing life, motherhood, algorithms, brand deals, imposter syndrome, and people watching your every move. What’s helped me succeed (and keep growing) is:
1. Thick skin + soft heart
You need to be able to take feedback, bounce back from flops, and not let comparison eat you alive—while still staying emotionally open and connected to your audience.
2. Authenticity
People can smell fake from a scroll away. If you’re not being yourself, you’ll get tired of performing. I found that when I dropped the filters and just showed up as me, everything changed—brand deals, client trust, and genuine engagement.
3. Discipline over motivation
There are days I’m tired, unmotivated, or discouraged—but discipline keeps me showing up. I don’t wait to “feel ready.” I’ve learned to move even when it’s uncomfortable.
4. Community
Whether it’s fellow creators, supportive clients, or my day-one followers—having people who cheer you on makes all the difference. No one builds alone.
So yes, get the knowledge. Learn the skills. But never underestimate the power of showing up with grit, grace, and realness. That’s what builds a brand that lasts.
