Brittney , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?

There are days when I wish I would have taken a leap of faith a bit sooner to start my journey as a plus size model, influencer & digital creator. As introvert I was shy & stuck in my comfort zone. I was afraid of being judged by others especially those on social media. I’ve been modeling going on 3 years soon and I’ve realized that everything is happening for me at the right time. This timing is all in God’s plan. Now I am more confident than ever & I feel that I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey and starting at a later time. I’ve grown so much within a short amount of time as a creative and it’s only getting better.

Brittney , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am B.Mechele. A Plus Size Model, Influencer & Content Creator who was born & raised in Modesto, Ca. I moved to Decatur, Ga in 2012 & have been here ever since. I did my first professional photshoot with @aritalashon & my second professional photoshoot with @bigmuvashouse & I never looked back. As a creative I’ve enjoyed the photoshoots, creating content, working with brands and more. Im proud of how much Ive grown within a short amount of time. I look forward to growing as a model, content creator & taking it to the TOP baby!!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My goal and mission for myself as an introverted plus size model, influencer & content creator is to encourage those like myself is to not be afraid to go after your dreams. Channel out what could go wrong or what people will think about you and focus on what people will love about you & what uniqueness you bring to world as creative. The goal is to influence other upcoming creatives to live life unapologetically & know that you are important in this world and industry. Being plus size in a cruel society can be tough but know that there is community of wonderful people are there to encourage & uplift you! Go after your dreams!!!

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Yes!! I wish I knew more about how to get started as a plus size model such as finding model castings, content creator & influencer work shops. Also learning how create content and post on social media. I wish I knew that EVERYTHING is content. All the videos you have in your phone is content so post it. Now that I know I do my best to implement this into my creative journey. It’s important to stay connected & network.
