Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittney Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittney, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The legacy I hope to have is one of impact and persistence. I want to make this place better during the time I am here on earth and we’ll after. I want to create generational wealth for my family and the community at large. I want to be known for job creation and innovation. I want to leave a legacy of people first.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I own Focus & Frame Eyewear and we sell stylish and affordable prescription and non prescription glasses online.
I got into the business after being led by God to just start and surely enough the pieces started to come together and a passion was created.
In starting I realized that glasses can be medical devices or for fashion solely. I realized the incredible mark up of frames and didn’t believe in putting profits before people. So I curated a collection that speaks to different levels of affordability and fashion.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We built our social media presence primarily by organic growth. We show people who we are as a business. I get out there and interact with followers to show that we are real people and we try to be consultative in answering their questions. The small amount of ads we do run at the moment are targeted to our known demographic with emphasis on those things we have discovered draw them to our brand. The Who we are brings them in to the what we offer.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience is the key to growth. I have found out that a “no” from one does not mean a “no” from all.
I had recently been trying to find sourcing for Bluetooth glasses and found a company that I wanted to partner with. I was persistent in getting in touch with the CEO and one day I finally got the response I had been looking for. The owner was open to the idea and wanted to meet. Long story short they did not end up meeting with me and did not respond to any additional follow up. I was exhausted from the chase.
I was resilient because I made the choice of getting back to finding a supplier or company I could work with. Flash forward I did just that and we will be offering Bluetooth glasses in just a few short weeks.
