We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittnee Thornton One: Eleven Property Group. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittnee Thornton below.
Brittnee Thornton, appreciate you joining us today. Talk to us about building a team – did you hire quickly, how’d you recruit the first few team members? Any interesting lessons?
When One: Eleven Property Group started, there were 3 Real Estate Agents that came along the journey with me.
One member lost her battle with breast cancer, shortly after the team was established. Two others remain with the team to this day.
As far as recruiting goes…. We have never traditionally recruited anyone. The goal has never been a large number of team members. It’s always been about – what I like to call “filling the gap.”
I get calls from active real estate Agents often. They feel like a ‘number’ at their current Brokerage or Team. They have zero training, guidance, support, and feel like they’re “on an island” with no one to call/text with questions.
The team was started to redefine the way we work together as a team to build our individual businesses.
Would I change or do anything different? No, the team has developed exactly how it needs to. I prefer strategic, yet ‘organic’ growth, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Brittnee, Team Lead for One: Eleven Property Group. I obtained my real estate license out of a need for change and the potential for unlimited income. After 17 years in the Human Services and Criminal Justice field – I needed and wanted more.
Being a full-time Realtor, Team Lead, business owner – takes a level of discipline I never knew until I decided to work solely for myself.
That discipline started with my weight loss journey, about 10 years ago. I remember telling myself, if I could lose the weight naturally, I could do anything. At that time, I was nearly 300lbs.
I had no idea what exactly ‘that’ would be. But, today – I’m living proof in more ways than one.
Those same principles of dedication, determination, and self discipline are carried over into our work as a team and in real estate.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
As a team, we have created a space of inclusion for each team member. Thus, this is a breading ground for ideas and growth.
And, in this market we get the opportunity to get back to ‘real’ real estate. Building relationships with our clients and potential clients. And that’s exactly it, we build relationships, through engagement and networking… the transactions follow.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
We make it a point to connect with our audience at every level. That’s social media, in person, in the community, phone calls, text, email. You name it, we do it.
