We were lucky to catch up with Brittnee Scott recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittnee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
One of the things that I spend a lot of time focusing on is building subcontractor relationships in the government contracting space. I think a lot of focus is put on winning these mega big contracts but in reality that is the reason why contracts are going to the same “prime” vendors year after year. Subcontracting can be a game-changer for small businesses. It enables them to tap into a broader range of opportunities and expand their capacity without shouldering the full burden of tasks. By partnering with larger companies or specialists in their field, small businesses can access valuable resources, expertise, and economies of scale that would be otherwise out of reach. This not only increases their competitiveness but also allows them to bid for more significant projects and gain exposure to new markets. Subcontracting fosters collaboration, innovation, and skill development, benefiting both parties involved. It’s a strategic approach that empowers small businesses to thrive in a dynamic and competitive business landscape.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My success as a consultant is rooted in my ability to develop tailored solutions for clients. I specialize in identifying subcontracting opportunities, helping businesses establish strong relationships with prime contractors, and assisting with the creation of winning proposals. My strategic insights and attention to detail have led to numerous subcontracting success stories, where clients have secured lucrative government contracts.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting and an Masters of Science in Accounting. I continue to stay at the forefront of industry trends and developments by actively participating in government contracting associations and staying up to date with changes in government procurement policies as well as connecting with supplier diversity and minority inclusion leaders in local governments and agencies.
Outside of my consulting work, I’m a passionate advocate for small and minority-owned businesses seeking to enter the government contracting arena. I frequently volunteer time to mentor and educate entrepreneurs on ways of empowerment and techniques to thrive in the world of government subcontracting.
I actively provide free tips, checklists and host FB Lives on my FB business page Contracting Blueprint to go over the ins and outs of the contracting and subcontracting world.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Consistency. Consistency in both business and life is a linchpin for success. In business, it fosters trust, customer loyalty, and operational efficiency. It allows companies to build strong brands, maintain quality, and adapt to market changes. Without it, businesses risk losing credibility, customers, and competitive edge. In life, consistency nurtures discipline and personal growth. It forms habits, enabling us to achieve our goals and maintain well-being. Whether in the boardroom or our daily routines, consistency is the foundation upon which we build reliable reputations, strong relationships, and the resilience to face challenges with unwavering determination.
