We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Britteny Wyatt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Britteny, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think everyone has a different version of success. I believe you need to be passionate about whatever it is you are doing to truly be successful. You first need to create a goal, create a plan on how to reach that goal and a time frame in which to accomplish it. No matter how small or large the goal is if you reach that goal then that to me is being successful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Britteny Wyatt and I am the owner of Sunless Revolution Salon. Six years ago I decided I wanted to change professions and get into the beauty industry. Spray tanning had always interested me and I felt I would enjoy it. I originally thought it would be fun to have a mobile spray tan business. I started working for Sunless Revolution as an employee first. Then 3 years in I got the opportunity to purchase the business. It was a bit of a learning curve and struggle at first but has been the best decision I’ve made. I absolutely love what I do! I feel like I am an artist painting each client to perfection. I love seeing my clients walk out the door with a smile on their face and feeling good about how they look. Getting a spray tan is a huge confidence booster and Its an amazing feeling knowing Im the one who made them look and feel this way. The connections and friendships I have formed with each one of my clients is truly priceless. They are my family and I am so thankful for all of them.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Eight months after I bought the business covid hit. Not only was I still learning the ins and outs of running a business, having employees, etc. now I had to figure out how to make my business survive during a pandemic where my industry was deemed as non essential. I was giving spray tans to clients in their back yards and garages just to survive. I fought hard and now two years later I have two locations and business is booming.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The best way I’ve found for growing clientele is by word of mouth. If you are good at what you do and have happy clients then they will always not only keep coming back but recommend you to their friends.
