Britteney , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

My fiancé was researching engagement rings and wedding bands so he could get me the best ring possible. During his research, he found diamond & precious metal suppliers. A light bulb went off! He came to me telling me that with prices he was able to find, we could start our own jewelry company and pass on the savings. It’s only right because we feel that the fine jewelry market has always seemed so unattainable for most for so many years that we can create a middle more affordable market for the people.

Britteney , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

At Carter and Haynes Jewelry Co. we offer everything from A to B in the fine jewelry space. Engagement rings, custom rings/pendants, earrings, luxury watches etc. Our diamonds are of the highest quality that range from Flawless, vvs1, vvs2, vs1, vs2 we dont go under SI1 (Slightly included) and our color range is D,E,F, which is colorless (white diamonds) We pride ourselves on offering lab grown diamonds that 1, will give clients a more affordable price point and 2, are conflict free. We also have natural diamonds for those who prefer natural but we educate our clients so they can make an informed decision. Carter and Haynes Jewelry Co. will always give an honest, transparent price. Our clients will find value in all of our pieces and be extremely happy with the results.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

In the beginning with all the info we learned, we went from 0-100. We were so happy to be able to help the people and get our brand name and products there, that we ran into some issues. We simply got ahead of ourselves and had to dial it back and focus on smaller task in order to be more stable and efficient. Once we did that, our company began to really come together and have a more clear vision and direction.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

We didn’t have funding or manufacturers just raw materials and needed casters and setters. When manufacturers realized we were a new company most of them looked at us like competition and was reluctant to do business with us or they’ll severely overcharge us. With more knowledge we gained and consistently showing up we found a company that worked with us and helped us smooth out some rough patches and now we’re able to provide high-quality products consistently.
