Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Zimmerman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I made my life changing risk at the beginning of this year. I was living in Birmingham, alone, away from all my family. I was working a job that I liked, but still felt like something was missing, that I wasn’t using my full potential. I have thought about living on the West coast for many years and always saw how much fun and how financially stable the bartenders and waitresses were, but I have never bartender in that kind of environment and still considered myself new to the scene. Working at a huge club on the Vegas strip seemed like a huge fantasy to me. I decided to fly out in January, just to walk in to some auditions for the Clubs on the strip just to see where I would land. Next thing you know I started getting call backs and flying back out every week for 2 weeks. After a week or so I started getting offers to bartend at some of the most known Day clubs on the Vegas strip. I immediately put in my 2 weeks notice in Birmingham, packed up my 1 bedroom apartment and drove across the country to start my New life in Vegas

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have Always been in to fitness. I started competing in 2017 and really fell in love with the transformation side of things. I then started my own business in 2019, MicroBlading and permanent makeup. I love that no matter where I go or live I can have my business with me. I have been lucky enough to have all my passions (bartending in Vegas, permanent makeup and fitness) somehow, all relate to each other. Working at a Day club in Vegas, everyone wants to look and feel their best. I can educate people on fitness and permanent makeup
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I give a lot of my credit to social media. In todays age, everyone shops on social media, and that’s how a lot of people hear about certain brands and/or trends. Posting on a personal and business profile have given me the most success.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Wether it’s bartending, competing or permanent makeup, I think the most helpful thing to help me succeed is to always be open to critiques. No matter how long you’ve been doing something there is always new things to learn or a new way to do things that could be more effective. No one or no way is perfect.
