Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Woodard . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Brittany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
I love every customer old and new!!! I have been in the customer service/hospitality business since the young age of 16. Showing customer appreciation is very critical in the food industry it can make or break your business literally. One day a customer ordered about 6 pizzas and I made one incorrectly. She notified me, I apologized for the mistake, offered to remake the pizza, and offered a credit for her next order. She was more than happy because I went the extra mile to offer an credit for the future order, she said most places would just say sorry and not care. I try to make every customer one for life!! After each day of orders I will randomly choose about 4-5 customers just to check in on how everything tasted and to ensure they were completely satisfied with the experience. From time to time I offer buy one get one free meal, 50% off deals, and free food giveaways. Customer satisfaction is my #1 goal in all that I do!!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, I am Chef Brittany M. Woodard from Memphis, TN. I was born 7/28/1988 to Mr. Kenneth and Madie Denise Woodard. I attended Ridgeway High School class of 2006. I began working at the age of 16 at Sonic Drive-In as a carhop and I fell in love with the food industry at that point. From that young age I later became assistant manager working my way up to general manager for several restaurants throughout the city of Memphis. I obtained my forklift license in 2015 to begin working in warehouses and venture away from the hospitality industry for a moment. In 2018 I became employed at Cummins Diesel Engines. I would fix myself lunch as I normally would and a few co-workers would ask where did I get that from, before long I was bringing my entire shift lunch everyday. I would charge about 10-15 dollars per plate and it continually grew throughout the warehouse. March of 2019 I resigned from Cummins and became an full-time entrepreneur never looked back. Times did get scary at moments but I pushed through. I am currently doing more catering for weddings, birthday parties, reunions, any type of event.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media today has opened so many doors for young entrepreneurs. It gives us the ability to showcase our work and art around the world. I started out with only about 240 friends on my Facebook page now in 2022 I have over 4,000 friends and counting. Instagram is also a great platform to promote on lots of celebrities hire personal chefs and many other things from IG. I love how you can connect with everyone whether you know them personally or not.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation has always been based around great quality food and awesome customer service. I am very detailed oriented and have a precise eye when it comes to food presentation. It takes time and patience for everything to look correct and be presentable. My reputation is growing daily as I continue to reach for greatness and always put the customer first.
