Brittany, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
As of now we donate two custom cakes a year to foster children. As we grow and expand I would like for it to become more frequent or even a percentage of sales. I am passionate about foster children because I was in the foster care system from 12-18 and just wish something could have been special for me back then. So this is my way of giving back!

I’m Brittany, the heart behind Simply Brittany Sweets, where each dessert is a chapter in my story. It all began with a challenge on social media to create cheesecake-stuffed strawberries. Despite having no formal baking training and growing up in foster care away from my family’s culinary roots, I dove headfirst into the world of baking. This initial experiment sparked a passion that quickly grew into a business, focusing on cakes and cupcakes that blend creativity, quality, and a dash of love.

Primarily our sales come from social media posts and word of mouth! Recently I’ve tried ads recently so we will see how they do! Also doing mailing letters to subscribers from website! Over the winter I will be planning out other ways to market including business to business pitching and flyers door to door in certain neighborhoods!

Coming from the foster care system from a bloodline of bakers who never taught me how to bake (it was just in my DNA so to speak) getting through all those trials and tribulations and to turn the hustle into a full time business. Looking back I’m super proud of myself!!
