We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittany Ungermann. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittany below.
Brittany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Inspired by the ultimate purpose and pursuit for us as Christ followers: to share the message of the Gospel; of Christ’s pursuit of us and desire to be in intimate relationship with us, with everyone we possibly can. We are pursuing and actively seeking the Kingdom to come here on earth.
Kingdom Cookies is a grassroots fundraising effort. The purchase of each sweet treat initiates a chain reaction- an opportunity for the message of The Gospel to spread even further with each cookie to the community and throughout the world.

Brittany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For as long as I can remember, I have realized my gifts for hospitality, baking and serving those I love through those ways. Baking cookies for friends and various gatherings was a mechanism by which I could both enjoy those gifts for myself, while also sharing my heart with them.
In April of 2023, an opportunity to go on a missions trip to South Africa was presented to me through a ministry team I belong to. While this sounded like a desirable adventure to pursue, I couldn’t quite wrap my mind around having to not only pay for the trip, but manage the costs associate with taking the time off of work from a job that already is on the lower end of income as a non-profit employee.
One night, the parts of what gifts I currently have, where I am presently and where I want to be all came together. I could take my gift and joy of baking, package it up using my current experience as a Marketing Professional, and raise money, all while spreading a sweet message.
Kingdom Cookies was born, and with it, an effort tagged “Dough 4 the Nations”. Most everyone loves cookies- but combine a cookie with purpose, intention, a powerful message and a supportive community and they’re irresistible.
It has been humbling to not only see God provide completely for that trip itself, but also make an impact that is far beyond the trip, the cookies or even the business itself.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Ironically, the marketing and heart for this business isn’t even about the product really. Rather, moreso about creating community. Touching and being intentional about caring for others through the ways this product provides, to spark a loyal flame inside them- continuing to inevitably carry and spread the message organically.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Getting exposure and support through other local businesses has been a really great platform for new clients. Simply taking the step to ask to be a part of these opportunities, whether markets, local coffee shops, churches, etc. creates amazing opportunities from there. Approaching people who also started small helps with their willingness to help, since they were once in our shoes, they relate and want to help as best as possible.
