Alright, Brittany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. So, we’d appreciate if you could open up about your growth story and the nitty, gritty details that went into scaling up.
I have a Professional Development company , BenhancedByScott Professional Development Services, LLC. My company empowers everyday professionals to embark on new career paths, increase their annual income, and scale the corporate ladder with finesse.
When I initially started writing resumes and optimizing LinkedIn profiles, I charged about $35.00 per service. At most $40.00. During this time, I did not have “official” business operations (i.e.- website, payment methods, operational processes, etc.) I simply operated from word of mouth and occasional Instagram/Facebook post. All the while people would tell me “you should charge more” because of the high quality of my work. I knew that they were right but the timing was off. See building a company is really about building value, building community, and building longevity. Raising my price because my “I deserve to” at the inappropriate time could have cost me the value of my business, which are my customers, the community I have built of people who did my free marketing with their recommendations, and the longevity I am actively working towards.
I decided in order to raise my price, I would have to raise the standard in which I delivered services. I became an official business entity, designed an official website, configured third party payment processing, launched social media platforms, and built a real company ….and then I raised my price.
And you know what happened ? I grew my business clientele at an exponential rate. The quality of my service, was so high caliber that the price was basically a no-brained and never a point of contention for my clients. They were already sold on me and my business before I processed a single dollar transaction and that is how you scale a business to grow exponentially overtime; you build value and community around your business model.

I have always been a prolific writer and had a knack for connecting people with their desires, combine the two and you have a Professional Development Strategist, that is “I”,Brittany Scott. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology. I quickly scaled the corporate ladder and love my career in Clinical Research Operations. I perfected the art of finessing my professional strengths, within the right career field and increased my income over 50% landing myself 6-figures before 30 years old! However, my true passion has always been developing people so I also continued to tutor, enhance resumes/cover letters, create templates/contracts, etc for people until I finally decided it was time to go legit, thus, BehancedByScott Professional Development Services, LLC was birthed. #RTPFinesseQueen
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being 100% genuine. My most frequent and personally my favorite comment is when people tell me they could relate to me or if they see a Tik Tok of mine and say it felt like I was talking directly to them.
Connecting with people, or having the ability to connect with people is powerful and transformational.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Consistency. Often times when clientele is at a low, people “jump ship” and want to create all new marketing plans or outreach initiatives; and while strategy is good…consistency is key.
If your process works for you, then trust it and be consistent and dedicated to seeing your process through. The more dedication you have to your process, the more it is noticed by people who will eventually become your clients/clientele.
