We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittany Ranew. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittany below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Talk to us about building a team – did you hire quickly, how’d you recruit the first few team members? Any interesting lessons?
I started out as a solo entrepreneur. I realized that if I wanted to grow past where I was, I needed help. I wrestled with my first hire because I was concerned about giving control away and also concerned about the financial commitment. After talking it through with my business coach I realized I was having an “all or nothing” mindset. I was stuck thinking that I had to make the perfect hire and have it all lined up perfectly for it to go right. Once I thought through it more, it helped me release some of that pressure I was putting on myself and whoever that first hire was going to be. It didn’t have to be a perfect. It was fluid and it could change. I just needed to take that first step in delegating and trust that it would grow from there.

Brittany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a real estate advisor, I help clients navigate one of the biggest financial and emotional commitments in their lives with buying or selling property, or moving across states. Having relocated to Florida from another state, I understand what it’s like to have to uproot your life and start over. My competitive advantage is helping my clients not just find a place to live, but to find a home and feel like they are a part of the community.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I believe the best way to foster brand loyalty is to give value to the your clients. Staying in touch and checking in on them, truly caring about what’s going on in their lives. Whether that’s providing fun or valuable info, a unique personal touch with a gift, face to face meet ups or phone calls or a client appreciation party, I always strive to keep meaningful relationships with my clients.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think the best way to grow your clientele is to freely provide value to them. If you are providing value and showing you care, with no strings attached, they will become ambassadors for your business and look to connect you with other like-minded people.
