Brittany , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Sugar Sugar was born from a bittersweet experience; the unexpected loss of my husband, an experience that changed the trajectory of my life. After his passing I found solace in a simple message he left behind on a chalkboard in our kitchen, “it’s not work if you love what you do.”

I had never felt more compelled to live with purpose, to seize every opportunity, and to cherish every fleeting moment, it became my mission to seek out and savor the sweetness of life. His simple message inspired me to pursue what I truly love- spreading joy and creating sweet treats for others to enjoy. And so, Sugar Sugar Cotton Candy was born.

I chose cotton candy as my medium because I truly believe it is one of life’s simplest pleasures: sugar and magic. Cotton candy sparks joy, it is nostalgic, invokes childlike wonder, and reminds me that life is inherently sweet and worth savoring. With every treat we create, Sugar Sugar aims to ignite a sense of joy and sweetness in the hearts of those we serve.

Sugar Sugar Cotton Candy is truly a labor of love, I take pride in thoughtfully crafting our sweet treats with pure intentions and the highest quality ingredients- organic cane sugar, natural flavors, and dyes derived from plants; just the way nature intended. We believe in letting the purity of our simple ingredients shine through, enhancing the enjoyment of every bite. We have taken great care in providing a product that is inclusive and accommodating, creating something that everyone can enjoy. Our treats are gluten-free, vegan, and adherent to kosher standards. I wanted to help those hosting events navigate the dessert table with ease; ensuring a sweet treat that is conscious of the diverse dietary needs of every guest. At Sugar Sugar, we believe everyone deserves a sweet treat!

At Sugar Sugar we have truly taken cotton candy to the next level.  Our flavors are inspired by the enchanting world of French patisserie. We offer cotton candy flavors like: espresso, matcha, earl gray, rose, cookies and cream, chocolate raspberry, and birthday cake, we have something to delight every sweet tooth.
Every fluffy cloud is crafted with a genuine passion for spreading joy. Everything we create is intended to add a touch of sweetness to every event, helping our clients create moments of joy and happiness that will be cherished forever.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’m a mother first and foremost; and as a mother I’ve always been mindful of what my children eat due to food allergies; when we’re at home I can rest assured that my shelves are free of artificial flavors, dyes, gluten and other allergens but when we eat out or at parties it can be stressful navigating the lists of ingredients and making sure everyone is safe. It is difficult to enjoy the celebration when you’ve got worries about your child’s food allergy on your mind. I set out to solve that for other moms like me whose top priority is keeping our kids safe and happy by making Sugar Sugar Cotton Candy the solution- a dessert option that helps hosts stress less about their guests dietary needs so they can focus more on the celebration! I’m proud to say that everything we offer is made with the highest quality ingredients; all of our treats are allergy friendly, free from processed sugar, artificial flavors and dyes, and our confections are gluten free, vegan and kosher. Sugar Sugar is the answer to offering something sweet to celebrate that everyone can enjoy. Our clients are mindful consumers and aware of the dangers lurking in most conventional concession foods and snacks; we help our clients offer guests sweet treats that are made with the highest ingredients because their guests deserve the best! At Sugar Sugar cotton candy we believe that everyone deserves a sweet treat and no one should leave the dessert table empty handed.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I went from being a full time stay at home mom to a young widow and the sole provider for my family overnight. The loss of my husband was not only challenging emotionally but also financially. I homeschool my children and it was important to me to remain home with them as much as I could but this posed a challenge because I also had to work full time to provide for them. Being raised by an entrepreneur instilled in me a deep appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit and the freedom to work for myself. Witnessing the dedication, resilience, and passion that my father brought to his business inspired me to embrace the same mindset. I value the ability to chart my own path, take calculated risks, and pursue my own ideas. The entrepreneurial upbringing has taught me to be resourceful, adaptable, and to constantly seek opportunities for growth and innovation. It has shaped my perspective on independence, self-motivation, and the limitless possibilities that come with pursuing one’s own ventures. Entrepreneurship allowed me to work from home and to be present with my children during the most precious years of their lives while building my business and something that I could be proud. I hope this shows in my passion for what I and that someday my children will understand that I did everything I could to be present with them, to provide stability for them without compromising my ideals. I am passionate about being a mother and I am also passionate in business; I put my whole heart into what I do and I think this is because after my husbands loss, I had a new perspective on life. I didn’t want to take a single day for granted, I felt compelled to savor every moment and to truly appreciate the sweetness of life. This simple philosophy has been the driving force behind Sugar Sugar Cotton Candy and I am proud to have built something that shares my passion for savoring simple pleasures and cherishing every moment and that I can encourage others to do the same by offering the joy of cotton candy and the wonderful and whimsical feelings that come with sharing sweet moments with those we love! Event catering and sharing in my clients celebrations is pure joy for me and it is truly a dream come true for me to share Sugar Sugar with the world and to spread the message of cherishing the simple things; because in the end that’s what matters most. I started Sugar Sugar as a passion project; I wanted to offer moms like me thoughtfully created wholesome dessert options for their children’s parties and help them create sweet memories they could cherish for a lifetime; I set out to offer a treat they could be proud to serve their guests. I never dreamed it would be received so well and that we would be constantly booked and busy! I am so grateful to share the joy of cotton candy and to have the opportunity to add sweetness to our clients events.
