We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittany Merida. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with brittany below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents, Harvey and Lestelle, have played the most vital role in my success. Being raised in a God-fearing household, I was always taught to concentrate, follow the rules, and do my very best—three words I heard every single day of my life. It’s safe to say those words became the foundation of who I am. They weren’t just phrases; they were a lifestyle, a mindset, and a daily reminder of the standard of excellence my parents saw in me.
From the physical, to the mental, to the emotional—my parents were present for it all. They never missed a moment. Whether it was starting a drill team in high school, opening a clothing boutique in college, or launching a full-service event planning company, they supported me without hesitation. Every dream, every pivot, every new venture—I always had their full support, not just in words, but in action. They showed up, they prayed over me, they invested in me, and they constantly reminded me that anything is possible when you keep God first and do your best.
What means the most is that they always saw me—not just who I was, but who God created me to be. They constantly reminded me to see myself through God’s eyes, not the world’s. That no matter what room I walked into or what challenge I faced, I was already enough.
I love and appreciate my parents more than words can express. Their sacrifices, discipline, wisdom, and unconditional love have shaped me into the woman I am today. Because of them, I move with purpose. Because of them, I lead with faith. And because of them, I’ve never been afraid to dream big—and do my best.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Brittany Merida, and I’m the proud owner of Merida.B Events—a full-service event planning company rooted in creativity, intentionality, and connection.
My journey into the world of events wasn’t by accident—it was purpose-driven. From a young age, I found myself naturally drawn to organizing, leading, and bringing people together in meaningful ways. Whether it was coordinating pep rallies in high school, planning pop-up boutiques in college, or hosting milestone celebrations for friends and family—I discovered I had a gift for seeing the bigger picture and bringing it to life with purpose and detail.
Merida.B Events was born out of that same passion, but also from a desire to create safe, stylish, and seamless experiences where people feel celebrated, seen, and inspired. I didn’t just want to plan events—I wanted to create impactful moments that people would remember for a lifetime.
Along the way, I’ve encountered and solved a wide range of challenges—from last-minute venue changes and vendor cancellations to designing immersive event experiences for clients who weren’t quite sure what they wanted yet. I’ve learned how to bring structure to chaos, ease to overwhelm, and clarity to vision.
At the heart of my work is a problem-solving mindset:
I’ve helped overwhelmed clients turn scattered ideas into fully designed and executed celebrations.
I’ve worked with tight budgets and tight timelines, yet still delivered premium results.
I’ve bridged gaps between cultural traditions, themes, and modern style—making every event feel personal and one of a kind.
And I’ve stepped in during moments when clients felt stuck, unsure, or stressed—and reminded them that joy is still part of the journey.
Every event I design is a reflection of care, faith, and excellence—three values that have followed me since childhood. I believe that with God, grace, and great planning—anything is possible.
