We recently connected with Brittany Meister and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Working in the wedding industry, you will always form close knit relationships with your clients. Working with them in the season of one of the most important times of their lives is an honor to us, and we hope to make the experience leading up to their wedding day fun and as stress-free as it can be. One thing different Heirloom Design & Co. offers their clients is experience in different areas apart from planning. We also specialize in invitation suites, signage, and even have a sister company for florals, Bountifluer Floral Studio. It is rare to get so many design options under one house in the wedding world, and almost all of our clients take advance of this perk.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Brittany Meister is the owner of both Heirloom Design and Co. & Bountifluer Floral Studio. Both companies focus primarily on weddings, but also provide services for corporate and private events. Both companies focus on providing luxury service, where they fully take over all your design needs so you can relax and show up to the event ready to embrace all the beauty.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
As all small businesses know, social media can basically be a job all on its own. I think the biggest thing for me was to participate in collaborative projects where many people could be tagged on social media. This helps us to share and grow our network of vendors who share similar followers to us.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have recently pivoted to open another business, Bountifluer Floral Studio, in addition to running Heirloom Design and Company. I found that many of my clients using me for planning wanted to use me for florals, but keeping everything under the same business name limited my reach to clients who may not necessarily be looking for a planner, but would like to hire us for florals. By separating the two services under the different brands, it has given our clients more clarity and given us a wider reach.
