Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Kyle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Brittany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our mission is to provide intentional support so a mother can have an empowered birth. Birth is sacred and something a woman carries with them for the rest of their lives. Birth can also have unexpected elements. But even so, a mother should always feel supported, in control, and empowered to make the right decisions for themselves and their baby. Our intentional care is centered around ensuring a mom feels empowered through their whole pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Alyssa and I both are loss mamas – which means our babies died before birth. We both navigated pregnancy and birth after loss and realized what a strong need there is quality and compassionate support. And that is where our team’s heart lies – providing intentional support for empowered births.

Brittany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Bloom and Grow Birth Doulas is a group of four women offering birth doula support, postpartum doula care, lactation counseling, breastfeeding classes, childbirth education classes, placenta encapsulation, and more to the greater Springfield, Missouri area families. Alyssa and Brittany, co-founders and owners of Bloom and Grow, started their business with the heart to serve moms and their birth partners as their families grow. Their goal is to ensure that every mama they care for has an empowered and positive birth experience through intentional support and evidence-based education. They brought on Hailey, Bloom and Grow’s lactation counselor, a few months after launching Bloom and Grow. Hailey has been a huge asset to moms in need of education and support to meet their breastfeeding goals. They recently welcomed Lizzy (so recently that she is not pictured here yet!), Bloom and Grow’s Postpartum Doula, who will be offering postpartum care to moms to ensure they have a blissful and peaceful start to life with their newborn.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Alyssa and I first met at church and stayed acquaintances for a few years. Alyssa suffered the pregnancy loss of their twins during that time and a couple of years later, Brittany also lost their first baby. Alyssa reached out to Brittany, and through their hardships, Alyssa and Brittany contacted and found support and care in each other. They realized this kind of care and support is widely needed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – whether it was the first or fourth pregnancy, or pregnancy after loss.
