We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittany Hollis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
In March 2020, we got the dreaded message from our Pastor that our church would not be open for in-person services due to COVID-19. Our Church leadership team sent out a message asking if anyone in the congregation would be interested in teaching a virtual Bible study lesson. I had taught several in-person Bible studies in the past, so I really felt led to sign up to teach a virtual lesson. The problem was that I had never done anything like this before. I didn’t know how to produce a video or what lights or production I needed to record a quality video. I did my research and took the leap and recorded my first Bible study. I uploaded the video and remember feeling like I had walked right into my purpose. I felt so much joy and peace and knew I had to keep going. I started to record videos every week and uploaded them to Youtube. I received an incredible amount of feedback and support and knew it was time to go even further on this new journey. In October 2020, I launched Divine Bloom. Divine Bloom exist to equip women with tools and resources needed to grow their faith and stay rooted in God.

Brittany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a dedicated wife, mom, seminarian, and spiritual growth cultivator. I grew up in church and remember my days being filled with vacation Bible schools, Bible bowls (yes! I know that sounds incredibly nerdy! lol) Biblical history courses, revivals, and Sunday school.
I started to actually enjoy attending those events and I developed a passion for the Word of God. From a young age, I was able to take difficult biblical concepts and make them easy for others to understand.
Over time that passion developed into a desire to see others experience the transformation I experienced from having a deep, consistent, and rooted relationship with the Word of God. This desire gave birth to Divine Bloom. Divine Bloom is all about developing content to help women stay rooted in God. We provide a community that allows women to connect and encourage each other in the faith, and also provide faith-based merchandise, resources, and tools to aid in growing in your relationship with God.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I would definitely say consistency. I believe that it is vital to show up for your people! I make sure that I connect with my audience each week in some form, rather it is by email, video, blogs, or social media encouragement.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
Yes! The majority of the funding for my business comes from product sales. Divine Bloom has a resource shop that sells a G.R.O.W.T.H. journals as well as other faith based resources. In addition to product sales, we also generate funding from affiliate marketing and brand sponsorships.
