Alright, Brittany thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Let me first start by saying, success does not come overnight. It took me four years to get to where I am now and I’m still learning and growing everyday. I don’t believe that there is one specific way to become successful because that looks different for everyone, whether you are running a business or working a 9 to 5. When I launched Boss Lady Mobile Laundry & Cleaning LLC, in 2019, I had no clue how successful I would be but I DID have determination, drive and dedication to my goals of being a successful business owner. For me, the key to success was simple.. to just START! Through the doubts, fears of failure or not having the funds to grow my business, I pushed past all of the things that scared me and leaped into my purpose! As a single mother my “WHY” was not only doing something I was passionate about but being able to be present in my sons life. how you utilize your time is significant to your success. What you put in is what you get out! Success may look like long hour days, late nights and early mornings. It may look like going days or weeks with selling a product or service. It may seem impossible! I stuck to my plan, had a great support system, knew my target audience and was able to reach my level of success. For anyone with dreams or goals, the key to being successful is to just START! Create realistic goals and follow the plan.

Hello, my name is Brittany Hastings. I am the owner of Boss Lady Mobile Laundry & Cleaning LLC, founded in February of 2019. I am from East Austin, Texas! I am a daughter, sister, mother, and friend who loves spending time with my family and friends. Boss Lady Mobile Laundry & Cleaning LLC, is a local small black woman owned business that provides mobile laundry and cleaning services to residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations. We help improve the quality of life by giving our clients their time back as we take on daily home task. We also provide laundry services to low income families, veterans and college students who may not have access to washers and dryers. We are known for our great customer service and quality work. What set us apart from other wash and fold companies is that we treat our clients like family and build positive lasting relationships. Currently, we are partnered with a few local non profit organizations and the City of Austin providing services to residence in need. In 2022, Boss Lady Mobile Laundry & Cleaning LLC, was named African American Business of the Year through the City of Austin SMBR (Small Minority Business Resources Dept.).I love the family dynamics that we have created within the company. I am most proud of my staff and their hard work in making sure we continue to provide amazing services.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Creating an unforgettable experience that customers will never forget has helped me build a reputation. Providing quality work and great customer service has helped to build a good reputation as well. It’s very important that my clients trust our work and services. Going the extra mile or offering incentives that make it easier on the customer goes a long way. As an entrepreneur, you must learn your customer and implement their needs into the product or services you provide and that helps to build great reputation for your business.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for new clients is networking events and being a vendor at events. Networking events happen often and there are always different people the room who may want to utilize your products or services, know someone who may want to utilize your service or partner with you on opportunities. Pop up shops and local events that showcase businesses are always a good way to grab new clients as well. Having a marketing plan, which is catered to your specific niche and target audience will certainly help to build clientele. Creating a social presence and running ads can generate new leads and simply handing out business cards to places or people who would be interested in utilizing your service or product.
