We were lucky to catch up with Brittany Georges recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
So I’m the woman who’s always looking for a new gig, a reason to start over, a BIG risk taker. I met someone and we were having a conversation and I stated I had three jobs. She was like what?! You can’t be serious if you can juggle 3 jobs, you can definitely build a career! I was given the opportunity to go to school and I took it and ran with it. Literally. Left everything behind and started a new life. I even quit all 3 jobs. I attended Beauty School and originally was only interested in ELECTROLOGY (permanent hair removal). In order to receive financial aid I had to a dual enrollment which I chose ESTHETICS. 6 months later, I’m graduating with TWO LICENSES. Less than a year my life changed before my eyes.
I graduated October 2020, I was pushed by the same person who saw the vision before I seen it myself to find a location to start accepting clients. I had finally found my space November 2020 & began taking clients December 2020. All of this in LESS THAN A YEAR. I had no knowledge on running a business. Only thing I’ve done was clocked in all of my life. This was fresh and I had all types of different emotions. I literally built my website, llc, business bank accounts, booking site, etc by myself. I’ve learned from making mistakes over and over and gained so much knowledge, power, acknowledgment and blessings.
I offer over 50 services including PAIN FREE full body waxing and LUXURIOUS facials including Brazilian waxes and Vajacials. I also started formulating my own all natural cold process soaps 2021. From a business owner’s perspective I can honestly say building and maintaining a business isn’t for the weak. I’ve hit rock bottom so many times. This is my second year and I’m not where I want to be but I feel I’ve put my whole entire mind, body, time, tears, effort and soul into my business I’ll NEVER GIVE UP. I have good days and bad days like everyone else. I provide BOMB services but who’s to say everyone has the money to support me. Things are crazy and people are trying to find balance and prioritize their lives. So I’m patient with myself in this season. I know hard work pays off so I’ll continue to strive for the best.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Brittanyeunice, owner, founder and service provider of Lucky 7s Esthetics. I provide full body waxing and facial services including PAIN FREE Brazilian Waxes and Vajacials (a facial for the vulva). I solve a lot of ingrown and hyperpigmentation issues for my clients. I also become a therapist as well for the individuals going through tough times in life. What sets me apart from others is the fact my waxes are PAIN FREE & I DISLIKE FILTERS. I don’t care to edit or hide the imperfections. I feel so many people use them and it takes away from the originality of your work. In addition, I’m always bringing high vibrations and uplifting my girls. Self care services are all about loving yourself and relaxing to clear your mind and forget everything negative around you for a while.
I’m most proud of my 5 STAR Google reviews and the actual feedback from my clients overall. I meet women from all over the world and they trust me, choose me and they’re always satisfied with their services. I want all potential clients to follow my Instagram and search Lucky 7s Esthetics on GOOGLE for a better idea of all the services I provide and all updates which I’m posting DAILY.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Yes, I actually formulate all natural cold process soaps. As an Licensed Esthetician, you began to brainstorm on ways to make a HOMECARE routine for your clients until they return to you. I knew someone who was making melt and pour soaps so I thought, hmm that would be smart to add to my services. I began researching everything I needed to know about cold process soaps. I dwelled on it for months before investing. I didn’t know anything about making soap, once again me taking a BIG RISK. I haven’t found a vendor to manufacture anything for me. I’ve learned to weight my oils individually versus melt and pour soaps that are already combined. Cold process soaps are formulated with LYE, a substance used in the FIRST SOAP MAKING TECHNIQUES YEARS AGO. I’ve learned to design, mold, then cut them to cure for 3 weeks before the first purchase. In all honesty, I’ve learned to not invest so much money into products because you’re never sure what’s going to sale and what’s not. You’re literally standing on faith and a dream. I think that’s the beauty of it all.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In the beginning, I invested in business cards. I would pass them out in parking lots, grocery stores, shopping malls, literally everywhere I went I would approach individuals and give them a whole 30 second speech of my business. Once the business cards ran out, I felt times have changed and I want to save money and I feel people only throw business cards away so I began posting in Facebook groups and utilizing Instagram to grow my clientele. From a business owners perspective, do what works for you. People love interaction so step outside of your shell. People love REAL RESULTS so post daily and use hashtags. Stay consistent and always support others. The energy you put out will always get in return. Utilize Google, it shows you have a legit business and people are always searching for your services on Google.
