We were lucky to catch up with Brittany Demetrius recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
After battling with my own skin & health issues, it made me dive deep into holistic wellness trying to find the root cause which sparked my self development & wellness journey. I quickly became obsessed with holistic health and the life changing results I found through it. Passionate about personal growth and striving to be the best possible version of myself, I wanted to share what I found and empower people.
I am that girl who researches every company and every ingredient in products for what has now been over a decade. DEMISH (pronounced dee me sh) is my childhood nickname that I decided to incorporate into the brand showing that every path is not always linear and to always follow what lit you up as a child, it’s there for a reason.
I wanted to create a brand that believes in collaboration. We are trying to break down the barriers of how businesses view each other in the wellness industry. We feel that coming together for the greater good is much more powerful and impactful than doing it alone.
We empower people by focusing on a multi-faceted approach – not just product focused – mastering the balance of your mind, body, and soul through innovative products, collaborations and events to awaken wellness and healing to live a mindful and fulfilling life. We just launched our new monthly themed subscription box that features aligned wellness brands! Each box is solely created to solve a problem people face in a fun, unique way.
We care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every box we sell!

Brittany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised here in South Florida and got a degree in Finance with a minor in Hospitality Management at FAU in Boca. I went through the go to school, get a degree, get a 9-5 job route and always had a burning desire to create my own business. I finally decided to go after it and pursue my life long dream to create a purpose driven business combining my passion for products made with clean & safe ingredients and giving back to the planet and people. I wanted to create products that are made with only the best ingredients. We only use eco-friendly materials when packing our products, 100% recyclable mailer boxes and paper filler.
I care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature, that’s why we partnered with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every box we sell! Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact.
As we grow, our goal is to only magnify our impact on people and the planet.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes for sure! I love self development/business books, podcasts, and videos. There’s so many that have significantly impacted my way of thinking and philosophy but some of my favorite ones would be – Atomic Habits by James Clear, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein, Think and Grow Rick by Napoleon Hill, and The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz. I am always re-reading my favorites every couple of years too, you end up picking up on things that you may have not before and it’s always a good refresher.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think the biggest lesson I had to unlearn was self-doubt and the stigma around failure. I was always afraid of failing and that’s what took me so long to even start my company. Somehow society got it into my head that failure meant the end of the world when really failure builds resilience and resilience is one quality all successful people have in common. Some people are so scared of failing that they never even start. The most successful people have failed and have failed over and over until they became successful. Failure is part of the road to success, never give up!
