We were lucky to catch up with Brittany Cark recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.
I love family businesses and find they are essential in our society. It feels good to feel like you are making a positive contribution to your community and society. However, it stressful because when you are a family business you don’t always have a whole bunch of support from your family. My son does help with our business and I make it a point to let him know that this is his business as well. Giving him a sense of pride and ownership in building our brand and business.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what has helped us build our reputation in our market is the quality of service we provide. We take pride in making sure we communicate with our customers, being punctual and interactive during our events. Word of mouth is our biggest form of advertisement. We love hearing that our customers have had a great experience with our business and the service we provide and spread the word to their family and friends.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think going into business it’s always that fear that no one is going to support your business. However, I learned very quickly that people will support and help your business grow if you ask. Being transparent with people and saying you don’t know something or need help has made a big different in my business.
