Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brittany Bacinski. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brittany , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.
I think the most innovative thing anyone can do, myself included, is monetizing your passions in ways that feel aligned. Figuring out unique and creative ways to create multiple streams of income by following my bliss has provided me with so much peace, freedom and happiness. In the end, that’s what matters most.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Imagine if Gweneth Paltrow had a weird, relatable third cousin. I like to think I’m kind of like that. Curiously crunchy, seriously spiritual, wickedly creative, deep into wellness and mildly addicted to Whole Foods. I’ve curated a brand that’s akin to Goop, but for the common folk.
I’m a 2 X Best Selling cookbook author of the cookbook series Hippie Eats, author of 8 books in 5 different genres (who needs to be put in a box? Not this girl!) a blogger, wellness leader, host of the All Good Juju podcast, somatic healer, event host and leader, and a writer from South Haven, Michigan.
I’m a hard working single mama of two bouncing boys living in Metro Detroit. I’ve turned my passions into money in pocket and I teach others how to do the same within our Paid To Exist course to freedom.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Content creation and social media is often misunderstood, but in my opinion it is one of the most useful resources that we all have available to us. I have nothing but positive things to say about social media and how it has changed the trajectory of my life and career. I began creating and sharing content during the end of my college career in 2012 when only my mom and friends were reading and liking my posts. I felt the nudge inside of me to share my healthy lifestyle and over the course of many years consistently sharing content, my brand and messaging have evolved while my platform has grown substantially.
My best advice is to simply show up and start creating content. Many worry about doing things perfectly or they spend too much time overthinking before they share at all. It can feel overwhelming at first, but when we lean into our curiosity and start sharing things we are actually interested in ourselves, the content become more magnetic in that way. Remember, social media is an energetic exchange. So if you are sharing from an anxious place, people will feel that. Try creating and sharing your content from a joyful and excited place and the magic will happen!
In general, I’m a fan of sharing from the heart and having faith in your mission and message. Eventually, it will all pay off.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think most successful people, especially entrepreneurs, have to become masters at pivoting. There is often no linear path towards our goals, so in order to reach our desired outcome or destination, we must embrace the ever-evolving nature of change and face our roadblocks head on.
My business, brand and messaging has continuously evolved along with me as I’ve grown, so I pivot constantly. I went from working a full-time 9-5 to then working part time while I began building my business from the ground up, to eventually hustling as a full-time entrepreneur. I’m constantly pivoting between going from author mode with writing deadlines to shifting into podcast mode, leadership mode within our Paid to Exist community, content creator mode on social media, mom mode and entrepreneur mode. My whole lifestyle for me is one giant pivot, but I wouldn’t imagine in any other way.
