We recently connected with Brittany Armbrecht and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Today I earn a full-time living from my creative work — but it definitely didn’t start that way.
I launched Bold Pixel Media Co after working in TV news and marketing and taking time to be a full-time mom. In the beginning, I built the business on the side — filming, editing, and managing accounts at night and during nap times while juggling freelance work and motherhood. I didn’t jump straight into full-time income — I grew into it.
One thing became clear quickly: people were excited to work with me because they felt cared for. Many had worked with agencies before and felt like just a number. With me, they got personalized attention, strategy, and creative direction that actually moved the needle. That trust turned into retention and referrals.
A few key shifts changed everything:
• Treating it like a business — systems, contracts, retainers
• Prioritizing long-term monthly clients instead of one-off projects
• Raising my rates to reflect value instead of pricing from insecurity
• Hiring help so I could stay in my zone of creative direction
• Positioning myself as a strategic partner, not “just a content creator”
Those changes happened over the course of about a year and a half.
Could I have sped it up? Absolutely — if I had:
• Built a pipeline instead of waiting for inquiries
• Hired help sooner instead of trying to do everything myself
But the slower path taught me what I needed: confidence, boundaries, and clarity about the business I want to build.
Today I run Bold Pixel Media Co full-time, and it has truly been a blessing in my life. I am grateful for how God led me into this work, brought the right clients, and continues to grow it in ways I never could have planned on my own.

Brittany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Brittany Armbrecht, founder and CEO of Bold Pixel Media Co., a video-first social media agency serving clients nationwide. Before launching my company, I spent years in television news as a reporter and anchor, then transitioned into marketing, videography, and photography. That experience shaped how I approach content today: with storytelling, clarity, and emotional connection at the center.
Bold Pixel Media Co. was born because I saw a gap between what most agencies deliver and what business owners actually need. Many brands hire agencies and end up with pretty graphics or templated calendars that never generate revenue or build trust. My clients wanted something different: content that converts, strategy that aligns with business goals, and a partner who treats their brand like their own. That became our standard.
Today, Bold Pixel Media Co. provides full social media management, on-site content shoots, short-form video production, and strategic consulting for founders who want to show up online with intention. We work with a variety of industries — travel brands, real estate professionals, children’s media companies, apparel brands, and personal brands. Our focus is helping them turn their expertise into scroll-stopping content that drives inquiries, bookings, and sales. What sets us apart is that we do more than post. We build strategy, systems, and storytelling around every brand so the content actually performs.
My journalism background taught me how to uncover the story behind a business and tell it in a way that connects with people, not just algorithms. I approach every client as a strategic partner rather than “just a content creator,” and everything we produce has a clear purpose — whether it is trust, demand, or long-term positioning.
I am proud that Bold Pixel Media Co. started at my kitchen table while I was raising three children and has grown into a full-time business serving clients across the country. More than anything, I am proud that clients feel seen, supported, and understood when they work with us. We do not just create content. We build brands people remember and help entrepreneurs show up with confidence and clarity so their work reaches the people it was meant to impact.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots of my life was walking away from my career in broadcast journalism. I spent years in TV news as a reporter and anchor — it was fast, exciting, and something I had worked incredibly hard to earn. But once I became a mom, the reality of that lifestyle set in. The long hours, unpredictable schedule, and emotional toll didn’t align with the kind of presence I wanted to have at home. Leaving was terrifying. I had no roadmap and no guaranteed income — just a conviction that it was time for something different.
That decision opened the door to marketing and freelance videography and photography, which allowed me to stay creative while building something on my own terms. Over time, that work evolved into helping businesses with their social media presence. I realized how much I loved using what I learned in journalism — storytelling, messaging, and understanding audiences — to help brands grow. That unexpected direction is what eventually led to Bold Pixel Media Co.
Looking back, I can see how clearly it was God’s plan. What looked like a loss at the time was actually a setup for something better. I always tell people facing a similar crossroads: if you’ve prayed about it and feel peace, but fear is the only thing holding you back — take the step. Fear doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Some of the scariest pivots end up being the most purposeful.
And give it time. Nothing meaningful happens overnight. The growth, the clarity, the confidence — they came with patience and consistency. What felt like a detour ended up being the exact direction I was meant to take.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes — there is a very clear mission behind my creative work. At its core, Bold Pixel Media Co exists to help businesses show up online with clarity, confidence, and purpose rather than noise. There is so much surface-level content in the digital space, and I believe brands get traction when their marketing is rooted in story, strategy, and integrity. My work is driven by a desire to elevate the standard of social media from “posting to post” to creating content that actually builds trust, drives revenue, and reflects who a brand truly is.
On a more personal level, a big part of my mission comes from my own journey as a mom and entrepreneur. I know what it feels like to build something from the ground up without wanting to sacrifice your family, your values, or your peace. I want to help other entrepreneurs do the same — to market well without losing themselves in the process. My goal is not just to make feeds look beautiful but to help people build businesses and lives that are sustainable, aligned, and impactful.
In short, what drives me creatively is impact — helping good people with good work be seen, heard, and remembered online in ways that move their businesses forward and support the life they are trying to build.
