We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittany. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittany below.
Brittany, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I try to show my clients I appreciate them in the little things. I remember details they’ve shared, check in on how they’re really doing, and make sure the time they spend with me feels easy and comfortable. Sometimes it’s having their favorite drink ready, sometimes it’s giving them tips to make their hair routine easier at home, and other times it’s just listening.
At the end of the day, I want them to leave not just happy with their hair, but also feeling seen and cared for. That’s what builds trust and keeps the experience meaningful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an independent hairstylist and the owner of Desert Daydream Salon in Phoenix. I got into this industry because I love helping people feel more like themselves. Hair can completely change the way you show up in the world, and I’m here for those transformations that feel effortless but still make a big impact.
I focus on lived-in blondes, custom color (whether natural or more creative), and comfortable, natural looking extensions, with a big emphasis on keeping hair healthy. While I keep up to date with the latest trends, my goal with every guest is leaving them with hair that grows out beautifully, and fits their real life.
What I’m most proud of is the environment I’ve built. I’ve gone through a lot of growth in my business. My studio salon is calm but creative, down to earth but still elevated. Clients know they can be themselves in my chair, and they leave not just with great hair, but with confidence and peace.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience has been a theme throughout my journey as a hairstylist and business owner. I started out under the name Revamped by Brit while I was growing into my business, but over time I realized that name didn’t reflect where I was headed or the kind of experience I wanted my clients to have. Rebranding to Desert Daydream Salon was a risk, (I worried people might not follow or that I’d lose momentum) but deep down I knew it was more aligned with who I am and the clients who would connect with it.
The transition stretched me in a lot of ways, but resilience for me has always meant showing up, even when it feels uncertain, and trusting the bigger picture. Looking back, I’m proud I didn’t let fear hold me back. Stepping into a name and brand that feels true to me has made all the difference.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest things I had to unlearn were perfectionism, caring too much about what other people think, not listening to my own heart, and self doubt.
Once I let those things go, everything changed for me. I stopped trying to fit into expectations, fell in love with the process of becoming (even the messy middle), and started trusting myself more. That’s where Desert Daydream Salon came from, following my vision and building something that I truly love. I’m in love with the space I’ve created, and I know the right people will fall in love with it too.
