2020 COVID hit and after being closed for 8 weeks I realized it was time to push and grow my business.I have been in the business for 35 years and grew up in my moms salon. I knew I had a lot to offer and really focus on client experience and helping women. I offer many services in the hair extension realm. We are launching this year my own hair extension line. In the salon we keep a full inventory working directly with manufacturers. Most recently I’ve mastered a new method Mesh Integration and I am able to help fine, thinning haired clients. Also clients with partial hair loss, hair loss from medical conditions, hair growing back from hair loss, post partum, alopecia, trichotillomania. So now we have options we haven’t had before to give clients their hair back. Most recently we have won two years in a row best hair extensions from Jacksonville Magazine
Brittany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I grew up in my moms salon and have always had a passion for hair and making clients feel their upmost best.I am obsessed with transformations. Your hair is the most important thing you wear and you need to feel your best about it. I am constantly seeking out education to make sure I’m delivering the best possible service for my clients and on to- of trends and latest techniques to meet the needs of all my clients. We recently expanded from our suite to larger salon space still offering privacy but with much more room. We also have a private room for guests who may want to have their hair extensions done in private. I think what sets me apart is my constant desire to learn and polish my craft even after 35 years in the industry I want to know more. This year adding mesh integration to my services and traveling the world to master it has been a game changer to give clients who need a better installation or been told no for hair extensions the hair they have dreamed of.i am developing my own brand of hair extensions to be able to provide clients the best hair and start an online store as well. Clients don’t have to wait we have the hair for you
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
You have to relate to your followers. I used to be so scared and worried about posting and it made me isolate all my work. With coaching and learning you post anyways someone is gonna relate and like your work.i also post a lot of my life and what we do. This helps clients get to know me and what the experience is like in the salon. Now it’s second nature and I work with a social media content creator to help me and manage my page. Even with the help I stay hands on so clients can get to know me and what happens in my chair
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being a business is tough and pulls you in all directions. Putting God first and letting it him guide me helps through the most difficult times. I work long hours and days sometimes too much but I love it. Having a small business and trying to grow and expand is tough. Trying to raise capital, the day to day activities is hard.you have to show up anyways even when you don’t want to because giving up is not an option. If you give up you can’t win the only way to win is to show up work hard and do your best
