Brittani , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Well, my name is Brittsense, and I am the proud founder of 222Media LLC. My journey into the world of fine art photography and multimedia began with a deep passion for capturing the essence of cultural heritage and the power of melanin. My healing work is dedicated to creating & documenting narratives that are rooted from self awareness, Sacred Spiritual Knowledge & empowering, nourishing + activating communities. At 222Media LLC, we provide a range of products and services that include fine art prints from my 222forgottencities series, The Power of Melanin book, and the Class B mentorship program. Our BrittPrints are high-quality, fine art pieces that have seen a significant increase in appraisal value since 2023, making them a valuable addition to any collection. The Power of Melanin books are a celebration of cultural heritage, featuring positive affirmations, and images that honor the essence of melanin and its correlation with nature. The Class B mentorship program is designed to nurture and guide youth that aspire to be professional artist & entrepreneurs. The Mentorship offers them the tools and support they need to succeed in their creative endeavors. One of the main problems we solve for our clients is the lack of representation and empowerment in the art world. By providing a platform for diverse voices and narratives, we ensure that our clients see themselves reflected in the art they collect. Additionally, our mentorship program addresses the gap in professional guidance and support for emerging artists. What sets 222Media LLC apart is our commitment to community empowerment and cultural appreciation. Our art is not just about aesthetics; it’s about telling stories that uplift to embrace your self worth in a world that feeds off of fear distractions & self doubt. We pride ourselves on the authenticity, integrity, and quality of our work, and we strive to create pieces that resonate deeply with our audience. I am most proud of the impact our work has had on the community. Seeing our art inspire and uplift people is incredibly rewarding. One of the highlights of our journey has been the opportunity to collaborate with various organizations and individuals who share our vision of empowerment and cultural celebration. We’ve launched a nationwide billboard campaign for our own company products, which has significantly amplified our reach and impact. One of the first campaigns I launched was dedicated to healthy eating and positive affirmations, aimed at replacing the billboard advertisements throughout communities that have food deserts and are bombarded with tobacco and alcohol ads. This campaign also allowed me to include the youth living in these communities by taking portraits of them and featuring them on the billboards. It was a liberating moment for my business, as all of the billboards were funded by myself. Additionally, we’ve spearheaded billboard campaigns for other local businesses and artists in the Bay Area, including Mandela Grocery, Yoga Love, Alameda County, Sol Development, DOPE Era, 87months, and many more. These collaborations have not only elevated our community but also strengthened the bonds within it, showcasing the power of unity and shared purpose.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale is essential for the success of 222Media LLC. One of the cornerstones of effective team management is fostering open communication. I, Brittsense, make it a point to speak with each member of my team every day, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued. Being supportive and encouraging is another key aspect. I clearly communicate my expectations while also welcoming input and advice from the team. This open dialogue helps in refining ideas and achieving better outcomes. I emphasize the importance of teamwork and ensure that everyone knows we are working together towards a common goal. This isn’t a hierarchy; it’s a collaborative effort where every team member’s contribution is crucial. Recognizing and celebrating achievements, no matter how small, is vital for maintaining high morale. Acknowledgment of hard work and successes boosts motivation and fosters a positive work environment. Ultimately, creating a culture of mutual respect and support is what sets 222Media LLC apart. Growing up in the inner city of Oakland, California, specifically in Deep East Oakland, I faced significant challenges. This area, known for its high crime rates, was a tough environment, and I often felt the pressure to conform to its hardened ways. Even within my own family, I was picked on and made to feel less than because of my style and my gentle, kind nature. Despite this, I refused to let the harsh environment change who I was inside. I remained true to myself, embracing my niceness and sweetness, even when it seemed out of place. This inner resilience has taken me further than I could have ever imagined. I channeled my love and compassion into my photography, and eventually into my business, 222Media LLC, making something beautiful out of nothing. A significant source of my strength and inspiration was my mother, Jenetha Smith, who has now become an ancestor. She was my primary example of compassion and love, always supporting my dreams, even when the outcome was uncertain. I credit much of my success to her unwavering support and the values she instilled in me. Through my journey, I have learned the importance of staying true to oneself and not allowing external pressures to dictate who you are. This is a message I emphasize to my mentees: never let anything or anyone change who you are, and never be afraid to show love, even if it is not always reciprocated. Resilience, for me, is about maintaining your essence and using your unique strengths to overcome adversity and achieve greatness.
