We were lucky to catch up with Brittaney D recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brittaney thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
i have always been a person of huge dreams . I believe in myself even when others don’t . My legacy will be that she was an inspiration to beauty lovers all Over and that she was a beauty business mogul.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those that may not know me my name is Brittaney D. And I am the owner of Lash Bause Beauty LLC. I got into the lash industry about 5 years ago when I realized I didn’t want to do makeup lol and I needed more money because working one job wasn’t enough income. I took a training class for lash extensions and it was difficult but I stuck with it . I disciplined
Myself to take models everyday and study and immerse myself in my craft to perfect it.
Fast forward 5 years later my corporate job is no more and I own my own lash studio . Lash Bause Beauty Bar has a full staff of beauty providers and offers a wide variety of beauty services . From nails to lashes hair and makeup. It’s Dallas’s ONE STOP SHOP FOR BEAUTY!
I also have a lash supply line of my own and we sell lash supplies to lash artists across the nation .
My clients are a huge part of my success they have been with me for so long and most since my early lashing years . I try not to be so strict and uptight in my business we are more of a family . We have even had babies together we go through breakups and losses together . My clients are truly what keeps me coming and doing what I live everyday .
I love making them feel and look beautiful no matter what the current situation is when they walk out of my salon they are happy and often inspired and motivated to
Keep
Going . It’s more than doing lashes I’m also changing lives and speaking life into the women of our society
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process./
When I first began doing lashes I never wanted to get into products. As I grew I realized “hey it’s really hard to find this stuff in my city on hand” so that’s when vendors started to Reach out to me and I decided to order my first sample product. The first sample came back and I hated them so I didn’t pursue again for some months . Another vendor reached out to me I ordered samples and absolutely loved them . We have been in a business partnership for 3 years now they are so kind and we have built a great business relationship. We even went through a pandemic together in different countries we stayed in contact with each other and constantly checked on each other during that time.
Do you have any stories of times when you almost missed payroll or any other near death experiences for your business?
Mu business definitely almost died before it was even brought to life lol ! During 2021 here in Texas we had a terrible snow storm which left many buildings without power . Well I had just finished renovating my new commercial space the week prior to the storm. So I asked my husband if we could go check on the building . When I came to the front door water was flowing out of the front door!!! Ruining all the work I put into renovations! I lost money and all Hopes of opening due to a broken pipe in the bathroom . I had to start from square 1 all over again.. stay resilient no matter the situation and always keep faith
