Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Britt Kreutzer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Britt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?
I have known my friends Katie and Casey for almost a decade. We met when they were pregnant with their first baby girl and I was pregnant with my second, also a girl. We became the greatest friends, our girls did too. When I got into real estate, they were the first to trust me with the sale of their home and the purchase of another. I had my license for maybe six months, but they trusted me to get the job done. That meant a lot to me! Fast forward a few years and my sweet friends decided to move to South Carolina and needed me to sell their house again. I will always appreciate their trust and support in buying/selling three homes with me.
So when it came time to go on a Disney trip with them, their very first Disney trip I knew I had to go above and beyond for them. I surprised them with a Walt Disney World VIP tour! I will never forget the look on their faces when I told them. On a Disney VIP tour you get to skip most of the lines for rides, enjoy a VIP seating area for fireworks, and enjoy snacks and drinks “on the mouse.” I could never express just how blessed I was that they supported my business for some of the biggest financial decisions of their life, but I can show them the most magical time at Disney!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For most of my twenties, I was a stay-at-home mom. I had babies fairly early in life and honestly, that was my biggest dream growing up…to be a mom! However, when the time came to get out into the workforce, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Not to mention I had absolutely no “hirable” skills for the last seven years or so. I created the strongest resume I could with the limited amount of work experience I had, including the CEO of Kreutzer Enterprises a.k.a stay-at-home mom. I had many skills that I knew could transfer to the workforce from multi-tasking (have you tried to make lunch with a baby on your hip and a toddler on your feet?) to being a chief financial officer (money is tight on one income!) and even managing household director that oversees the elements of a small-scale team. Despite my strongest efforts, I still struggled to get hired. I applied to many places, but often got turned away because of a lack of experience. I came across one job that was super far away from my house but paid decently and it was in real estate, something my husband always told me I should get into. I was consistently looking at houses, even after we bought our first. We both were concerned about the 45-minute drive to work, but at that point, I felt like if they would take a chance on me, I would make the drive. Long story short, I was the new Office Concierge for Madison & Company Properties and I will forever be thankful for the owner and the team that saw that I could provide value to their company and took the chance on this young mom with no real job experience.
I enjoyed this position for a good two years. In a normal timeline of events with most people that start as admin in real estate, I decided to get my real estate license. I had a huge support team that cheered me on. January 2019, I passed my real estate exam right before we took our first Disney cruise! Needless to say, I was able to enjoy my cruise so much more knowing I had passed. I have always had a love for Disney, in fact our honeymoon was at Disneyland. Disney was a big part of my life. When I returned from our Disney cruise, a good friend of mine and fellow real estate agent Chandra informed me of a training program and membership group called Agent of Excellence. They would be having a quality service training course with Disney Institute that Fall…at the steep price of $5k. I was a brand-new agent, with a modest salary still as Office Concierge, I was not sure I could even afford such a large training, not to mention it was located at Walt Disney World so travel expenses added to the price. My heart kept telling me to do it.
I pulled the trigger and signed up to go to Walt Disney World in October 2019 and become a member of Agent of Excellence. I was beyond excited, it combined two of my favorites things…. real estate and Disney. Of course, it was a perfect fit. After further investigation I discovered the founder of Agent of Excellence lived in Colorado Springs, I HAD to meet her. An exceptionally successful real estate agent, and a major Disney fan, Monica very quickly become one of my greatest friends after that first (and scary) meeting where I told her I HAD to be involved with Agent of Excellence somehow. Today you can just call me Agent of Excellence’s Membership Director. We have 190 magical members in over 40 states and Canada. We have hosted a multitude of events and continue to add more every year. We even have moved our training from Disney Institute to an online platform with Dan Cockerell, former VP of 3 out of the 4 Walt Disney World parks. We have a MAGICAL family of Disney-loving real estate professionals that I know I can call at any time if I ever needed anything, and that is one of the best parts of being an Agent of Excellence.
I got to work incorporating anything and everything Disney I could into my business. From headshots in Mickey ears to coining myself your real estate fairy godmother. People already associated anything Disney with me, now they just needed to associate my name with Disney AND real estate. After graduating from the Disney Institute, I was able to apply even more Disney service systems and processes into my business, after all, Disney is known worldwide for their standards of customer service and I wanted to be THAT real estate agent. It was my client’s happily ever after, and I wanted to be the one with faith, trust, and pixie dust to help get them to get their dream home.
Last year, a fellow Agent of Excellence family member from Colorado Springs reached out to me asking if I would be interested in starting an expansion team in Northern Colorado. After months of debate and the condition that fellow real estate agent and good friend Chandra came with me as partner, I agreed to be Team Lead of Homes of NOCO Group. We are still very new and still learning things every day, but we have a heart for our community and a heart for our clients and look forward to being able to elevate our industry standards, with a little pixie dust along the way.
From a timid and un-hirable stay at home mom with very little job skills to a successful real estate agent, magic maker, and team leader, I constantly remind myself of a quote by one of my favorite Disney characters “Even miracles take a little time” – Fairy Godmother

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
I am who I am, and I believe my success comes from being authentic. My branding is true to who I am, what I believe in, and how I want to run my business. According to data from SocialMediaToday, 90% of customers mentioned authenticity as an important factor in deciding which brands they like and support. The real estate industry is filled with a ton of information, stereotypes, and expectations. It’s easy for clients to get lost in a sea of messaging. When you have someone like me who is totally upfront with consistent brand messaging, it’s a relief and trustworthy for those that work with or want to work with me. After all, “Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, and they way you make others feel is your trademark.” -Jay Danzie

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I work closely with Dan Cockerell, the former Vice-President of the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Florida. I absolutely LOVE his book “How’s the Culture in your Kingdom” as it truly opens up your eyes on how to be a leader in your business through stories and experiences from his 26 years at Disney.
