We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Britt Hamilton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Britt below.
Britt, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My aunt would always say I should show my work to the public. I was coy about doing it at first because I thought my work was basic. Then a few close friends and other family member said the same things so then I decided to take a RISK. Surprisingly I got a lot great feedback about my work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For starters it’s a lot of NETWORKING! I’n order to have a net worth you have to network. With being a photographer that for some reason came easy for me, however for artwork it was a little challenging trying to break through. I had to talk to peers and basically step out of my comfort zone. Basically knowing your audience and having throughly communication! The thing I most proud of about my business is how it grew within 2 years. I just had to devote a lot of time to make sure I succeed in both of my crafts photography and art. At times juggling two different crafts could and can be difficult. Currently with photography I have quarterly clients, and I have also been able to combine both my artwork and photography with some of my clients. Or they knew someone who knew someone that liked my works.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Know that my work was being embraced and accepted by others. It brought me great joy to know that my works was not basic. Lol. And to know my works are not just local but has also been nation wide. That’s was the most rewarding thing.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I really want to be able to work for myself full time. Successfully! That’s what I’m working towards especially being a mum. That what’s give me my drive to keep pushing no matter what. To make sure I have the work home balance while doing something I love.
