We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Britt Bankhead. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Britt below.
Britt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name of my company was pretty easy. I used the last name I was born with, Bankhead and the rest fell into place.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I always knew I wanted to make movies since I was 4 years old. I had saved up my money to move to Los Angeles when I was 21 and my older brother, Kris was killed in Iraq suddenly. This changed my career path drastically, After his funeral I went to a recruiter and joined the Army to honor my brother and pick up where he left off. I spent 7 years in the Army Infantry and 12 months in Iraq. When I got out it took me awhile to find my groove again, but I packed up and moved to Los Angeles and used my GI Bill to study acting/writing/filmmaking at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I graduated in 2021 and started making my own films. My first thing I filmed was a pilot episode on a series titled “Winchester”. I experienced a lot of failure from that experience, but I learned from my mistakes. A year later I started my first film “Insane Like Me?” Starring myself and Eric Roberts which I just sold to Deskpop Entertainment. I’m currently in pre production on a film I’m most passionate about due to it being about my older brother Kris and his journey through the Army Infantry, his first tour in Iraq during the invasion in 2003 with the 82nd Airborne. I really admired my brother and think him along with many other veterans of numerous wars have great stories to tell.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My first feature I did failed miserably. I didn’t take it personally as the best lessons stem from failure not success. I took the hit and got up and started doing my second feature almost immediately.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met Grace Patterson on my second feature. She was one of the leads hired for the movie and she was the most interesting person I had ever met. We started dating after we wrapped filming on “Insane Like Me?” And a year after we were married. She has been one of the biggest influences in my life. We are currently working on a film “Brothers In Arms” together.
