Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Britni Ridge. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Britni, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I was a stay-at-home mom, and for the longest time, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do career-wise. I prayed—a lot. I kept asking God to show me where He wanted me to be, what purpose He had for me outside of motherhood. And then, it was like the answer fell out of the sky… but really, it was God placing it on my heart.
In 2023, I bought my very first camera—ever. I had no idea what I was doing at the time, but I knew one thing: I was supposed to be a wedding photographer. It was a calling, not just a career choice.
From that moment, I dove in headfirst. I spent hours learning everything I could—watching tutorials, reading, practicing nonstop. I photographed anyone who would let me, honing my skills and building my confidence. Then came the business side—figuring out pricing, contracts, branding, and marketing myself. I had to learn how to turn my passion into something sustainable.
Little by little, doors started opening. My first couples trusted me to capture one of the biggest days of their lives, and with each wedding, my love for photography grew even deeper. I haven’t looked back since.
It all started with prayer, faith, and one camera in my hands. And now, I get to spend my days capturing love stories—something I never could have imagined but exactly where I was meant to be.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Britni, the heart behind Britni Ridge Photography. I specialize in wedding photography, capturing love stories with a soft, classic modern touch. But my journey into photography wasn’t one I planned—it was one that found me.
I was a stay-at-home mom, unsure of what I wanted to do career-wise. I prayed constantly, asking God to show me the path He had for me. And in 2023, He made it clear—wedding photography. I bought my very first camera and never looked back. From that moment on, I dedicated myself to learning everything I could, practicing every chance I got, and refining my craft so I could serve my couples in the best way possible.
What I Offer
I provide wedding photography that goes beyond just beautiful images—I create an experience. My goal is to serve couples with trust, creativity, and a seamless process that allows them to fully enjoy their wedding day while I capture every meaningful moment. I also offer engagement sessions (included with my wedding packages) because I believe building a connection with my couples before the big day is so important.
Now, I’ve expanded to photo + video packages in partnership with a videographer, making it even easier for couples to get both services in one place without sacrificing quality or a smooth experience.
What Sets Me Apart
A Heart for Marriage, Not Just Weddings – I believe in marriage, not just the wedding day. I pray for my couples and want them to have a love that lasts beyond the photos.
A Seamless, Stress-Free Experience – I take care of my couples from inquiry to delivery, ensuring they feel comfortable, prepared, and truly seen.
A Timeless & True-to-Life Editing Style – My photos are soft, classic modern, and elegant—something you’ll love just as much on your 50th anniversary as you do today.
Faith-Driven & Passionate – This isn’t just a business for me; it’s a calling. I pour my heart into every couple, every wedding, every image.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the way my work has impacted couples—not just through the images but through the experience I create for them. Seeing their reactions, knowing I’ve captured moments they’ll cherish forever, and hearing them say they felt truly cared for means everything to me.
What I Want You to Know
If you’re a couple looking for a photographer who will invest in your love story, who will pray for your marriage, and who will give you an effortless experience and stunning images—you’re looking for me.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A big lesson I had to unlearn is that there isn’t only one way to do things. As creatives, we all have our own style, our own approach, and our own artistic voice. And while that’s important, I’ve realized that being too rigid in my vision can sometimes get in the way of truly telling my clients’ stories.
When I first started, I thought I had to fit into a certain mold—stick to a specific style no matter what. But over time, I learned that while my editing and approach remain consistent, the way I capture each couple should reflect them first and foremost. No two love stories are the same, so why should every gallery look the same?
Now, I focus on adjusting—not just to light and composition but to personalities, emotions, and the unique energy of each wedding day. Some couples are playful and full of laughter, some are deeply romantic and intimate, and others are a mix of both. My job isn’t just to create pretty photos; it’s to create images that feel like them.
Unlearning that “one way” mindset has made me a better photographer and storyteller, and I believe it allows me to serve my couples in the best way possible.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When it came to funding my business, I took a leap of faith. I didn’t have outside investors or a big financial plan—I just knew this was what I was meant to do, and I was willing to bet on myself.
I used a mix of my savings and credit cards to buy my first camera, lenses, and the essentials I needed to get started. It was a little scary at first, knowing I was making a financial investment without any guarantees. But I trusted that if God put this on my heart, He would make a way.
I worked hard, poured everything into learning, building my brand, and serving my clients well. And I’m so happy to say that I’ve now recouped every dollar I invested. That initial leap of faith was worth it a thousand times over. This journey has been a reminder that sometimes, you just have to trust the process, believe in yourself, and take that first step—even if it feels risky.
