Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Britney Kensmoe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Britney thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a client that you appreciate them?
I am a big believer in connecting my clients to their community- and the community to my clients. In order to help my clients better acclimate, I wrote a book, Inside Holly Springs, that highlights the small businesses in our town. This book helps these new families get to know the owners of the businesses and creates a customized connection with them. I want to help personalize their experiences, so maybe now they grow those connections and can converse with those owners by name!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’m a Realtor, digital marketer, wife and boy mom who is always up for coffee, lunch dates or a good glass of wine! I am a community expert who is dedicated to helping you find your happy place to call home.
Buying or selling a home is an exciting journey, and honestly, it can be a little scary. That’s where I come in. I’m here to hustle on your behalf, educate, advocate and protect your interests. I deliver an all inclusive experience that makes you feel like you are the star of your own HGTV show! I’ve got your back!
I specify not only helping families find their home in and around the Raleigh area, but I also specialize in helping clients purchase investment properties that help provide additional opportunities for them down the road. The North Topsail Beach area and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville areas are my sweet spots!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I speak to entrepreneurs and small business owners about this all the time. The best way to connect to and grow your clientele is to consistently be your tried and true, authentic self. When you stay top of mind, you create conversation and your business will grow on a know, like and trust scale. Referral real estate is an endeavor I highly recommend for all!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I started sharing my journey on social media long before I was in real estate. I was a brand new mom who adored her baby and wanted to share him with family. I created my “online scrapbook” with a daily post about what was going on in my sons life. I became very comfortable and consistent about sharing and providing value. Of course, at that time, value was cute baby pictures to my family. When I opened up my own business in 2013, I continued to use Social Media to connect with my clients, and keep them updated about what was going on in our business.
When I got into real estate- the transition was natural. Just continue to share what I had been. What is going on in my life, business and in the world and use it as a place to entertain, interact and educate my “audience”. The goal is to stay top of mind, whether it is real estate or just in life. Build that connection with your people and they will learn to sing your praises when they know someone with real estate needs because they already know you and trust you.
Be authentic.
Be you.
Be consistent.
