We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Briona Kerr. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Briona below.
Alright, Briona thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you ever seen (or implemented) a really awesome way to show a client you appreciate them
My clients are the basis of my businesses. If I don’t have clients, I don’t have business which is why I always try to make them feel appreciated. Whether they chose me randomly, were referred to me or they were assigned to me, I always provide them with great service and a token of gratitude at the end of a deal in real estate or randomly during my therapy sessions. People love to feel seen, heard and thought of so as a professional servicing clients, that’s a part of my job. With my real estate clients, I will tailor a closing gift for them and there have been deals I have given a part of my commission for clients because they needed it and that is always a great feeling for the client and therefore, for me. With my therapy clients, I try to show them small tokens of appreciation by getting them things they may need or things they’ve mentioned in one of our sessions. When people feel appreciated, things just naturally flow better and all parties are happy and that’s always my goal.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Briona and I am the owner of B Realty, LLC and a newly licensed therapist. I assist buyers, sellers, and investors throughout Georgia with their real estate needs. I also provide counseling to children, individuals, families and couples as well as my real estate clients from time to time. I have a 5 year old son who’s known as baby boss champ. I’m also a proud Georgia State University Alumna.
Real estate has always been a passion of mine so it was only right for me to get into the field. I’ve been on the sales agent side since I’ve started and I’m finally about to begin adventuring into some other real estate avenues so I’m excited about that.
I love helping people make one of the biggest purchases of their lives. It’s not an easy decision or process, so having a great agent is key. I bought my first house at 22, fresh out of college with a 1-year-old, so I think that sets me apart from other agents. I’m proof that it can be done if you really want it. I had a great mentor at the time so I always strive to be that way with my clients; honest, knowledgeable, and upfront.
I’m most proud of how I’ve managed being an agent with so many other things going on in life. It’s been some rough times, I’ve had some tough clients but I’ve always persevered through it one way or another so I’m proud of that. Also, my clients who’ve closed with me, especially those who’ve I’ve developed friendships with really make what I do worth it. I love seeing people flourishing even more after buying a home.
Mental Health has also always been a calling of mine. I began as a social worker and went back to get my MSW and then got my license to become a LMSW to be able to provide therapy. My goal is to have my own private practice with that in about 3-5 years which I’m also excited about. Since I’ve started counseling, Ive loved every minute of it and I love my clients. I’ve been in therapy myself so I know what having a good therapist can do for someone. My passion is therapy with kids because that is where everything starts: childhood. I think I’m the most proud of how quickly I’ve been able to build rapport with some of my clients. It’s not always easy getting people to open up to you as a stranger to them so being able to have clients open up to me fully makes me happy. B True, B You, Inc is my therapy brand and it came from me believing that it’s always best to be your authentic self and to always be true to yourself. Being able to say “hey, I need someone to talk to” or “I have some issues I need help with working out.” Accountability and healing all starts with self. As a therapist, my goal is to help you look within and become a better person, give you a different insight to things, and give you skills to be able to handle life better.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One thing I’ve had to unlearn is that you will not be for everybody and that’s nothing to take personal. You can be the nicest, most professional, and helpful, and that will still never be enough for some people and that is totally fine. I have a couple stories that prove this between real estate and counseling and they’ve taught me to just continue to be my authentic self and those clients who are for me will gravitate towards me and it will just work.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Having a database is how I keep in contact with past, present and future clients. Organization is key, especially when juggling other things. I have a newsletter that I send out regularly that provides useful information to my database. I also try to make sure my name and brand name is on everything I send out. They say out of sight, out of mind so I think the most important thing is to stay top of mind.
