Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bricine Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bricine, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Everything I’ve done thus far all started with God Family, Craft. What that means for me is to always stick to start and where I derived from. Coming from the Southeastern parts of United States everything revolves around God, your family, and everything you’re good at.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I always say I fell into the business. However nonetheless I started in the film and entertainment industry like most do, background work. I spent endless hours being apart of the ambiance that is the world that the main cast live in. I worked many productions while residing in Atlanta, Alvin and The Chipmunks, a regular BG talent on Devious Maids, a serial savior BG talent for The Walking Dead just to name a few. However throughout my endless hours on set I always felt deep in my heart that I want more, I need more. I yearned to be among those that tell their story through the visualized words of a script. It wasn’t until I was blessed with the opportunity to double for a very talented entertainer that I was given the freedom to just be. So everyday on set I was off book actually acting, I may have been 2nd Team but I always gave a 1st experience. I never tried to mimic what he would do but my interpretation of what each scene is and was for me. Well needless to say thankfully it was well received. Doing this showed me to be free, my highest self and that, THAT is what gave and still gives me life. When the cameras are rolling even on a rehearsal I’m telling my version of the story. After that first film as second team I started training everywhere that I could get in and afford at the time. We’re talking numerous flights to New York to get my behind handed to me in class so that I’ll be better on the day. Weekly flights to Los Angeles training in 3 different studios building up my actors toolbox and networking. Throughout this process I always listened to the greats whenever on set and I’ve met quite a few. One of The most important jewels I received was no matter where or how far I go in this business always remember to give back.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Everything about film and entertainment is about resilience. You will hear mots No’s than Yes’s. It’s about how do you respond to that, will it build you up and light you with an every burning fire to fight harder, grind smarter and develop yourself into the gem you know you are.; or will you crumble. Allow yourself to succumb to the distractions and develop a woe is me mentality. This business is not for the faint of heart. It’s survival of the fittest and there’s no real life Benjamin Button or fountain of youth serum to remain youthful. So while you’re young chase your dreams like there’s no tomorrow. In this business it’s here today gone tomorrow.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
You always get what’s meant for you. That’s a lie, you have to work hard to get it. Just because something is meant for you doesn’t mean you’re ready for it and deserve it right now. Every artist has developmental stages. Most times when you think you’re ready, you’re not. Yes, that’s my opinion not a fact. Personally I prefer to be prepared, I’m never ready. Every time I hear cameras up, I’m nervous and after three words in, I’ve forgotten all about it. It’s not about shining it’s all about giving, who can give the most. I was a Co-Star in a scene for a popular TV show and during our walk through rehearsal my scene partner who was series regular gave me his lines. He tools the director it just made more sense for my character to have more power than him in that moment, and he was absolutely dead on. I was grateful of course and we created magic. Leaving when to pivot and when to remain still. That’s another I had to redevelop mentally. Not every action deserves a response. In our day to day we don’t always respond to every action so why should I on camera.
