We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Briannon Kelley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Briannon below.
Briannon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
One of the biggest risks I took was leaving the stability of a full-time role to launch my own boutique PR agency, BK-PR. I had spent years honing my craft, securing press for high-profile clients across entertainment, sports, and lifestyle industries, but stepping out on my own meant betting entirely on myself — without the safety net of a larger company’s infrastructure. I made the decision because I deeply believed in my ability to not only deliver results, but to build authentic, lasting relationships between brands and their audiences. Starting my agency meant doing everything from client acquisition to pitching, strategy, and execution, often while balancing financial uncertainty in the early stages. That risk ultimately paid off: BK-PR allowed me to work with a diverse roster of talent, land major placements, and create a PR approach rooted in integrity, creativity, and real connection. It taught me that sometimes the greatest rewards come when you trust your calling enough to build something from the ground up. That risk became the foundation of the career I have today and reaffirmed that when you lead with purpose, the results will follow.

Briannon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Briannon Kelley, the founder of BK-PR Agency, where I specialize in elevating brands, voices, and stories across entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and emerging industries. I started my career with a passion for storytelling, drawn to the idea that behind every brand and every public figure is a story powerful enough to move people if it’s told the right way.
BK-PR offers full-service public relations support, including media relations, strategic brand development, event publicity, and personal brand building. In short, I help clients not only secure visibility — through features in major magazines, digital platforms, and news outlets — but also ensure that their narratives feel genuine, memorable, and impactful.
What sets BK-PR apart is the heart behind the work. I’m not interested in chasing headlines for the sake of exposure; I’m committed to building authentic, lasting visibility that reflects who my clients are at their core. I’m most proud of the reputation I’ve built for delivering tangible media wins — magazine covers, feature articles, viral digital moments, while staying deeply connected to the bigger picture: creating impact that lasts long after the news cycle ends.
For anyone learning about BK-PR for the first time, know this: I approach every project with the intention of not just amplifying your voice but protecting it, nurturing it, and making sure it’s heard the right way.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A major pivot in my career happened when I realized that saying “yes” to every opportunity wasn’t sustainable or aligned. Early on, I thought success meant volume: working with as many clients as possible, no matter where they were in their journey. Over time, I learned that real success meant alignment; working with brands and individuals who were ready for visibility and who matched the level of excellence and momentum I bring to the table.
Pivoting meant refining my agency’s focus: prioritizing strategic partnerships, developing more curated press campaigns, and deepening my brand’s own voice in the process. That decision led to stronger media wins — digital features, magazine covers, thought leadership placements — and a more fulfilling career overall.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience has been at the core of my journey, but one moment that stands out is navigating client transitions during a particularly challenging season. There was a time when several projects stalled due to outside circumstances beyond my control — financial delays, organizational changes, shifting client needs. Instead of folding under the pressure, I leaned into my faith, adapted my strategies, and stayed committed to excellence even when immediate results weren’t guaranteed. I invested that time into refining my brand, deepening my skills, and preparing for the next wave of opportunity. Eventually, that season of uncertainty led to some of the most rewarding client relationships and media placements of my career. It reminded me that success isn’t just about weathering the highs — it’s about how you handle the unknowns in between.
