We were lucky to catch up with Briannalyse recently and have shared our conversation below.
BRIANNALYSE, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I would hope to have left a positive impact on people. I want my legacy to be upholding truth as well as true artisty and songwriting. I mostly want to be remembered for the way that I treated people and that the tumultuous times that I had to experience were worth it because it then led to me writing a song to heal myself that hopefully heals someone else.

BRIANNALYSE, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Briannalyse, I am a singer/songwriter. I have written songs about love and loss. I think what sets me apart is I create as a result of experiences I’ve lived. I write all of my own songs from top to bottom and as of right now I fixate on them until I can really feel them because if I can’t, the listener can’t either. I’ve always enjoyed writing but recently I feel I’ve really defined who I am as an artist. I’m most proud of everything I’ve created but especially the making of my album,”The Girl Next Door.” I wrote and recorded independently over the course of two years. First recording each song as a demo, and re-recording each final draft fine tuning and crafting until it’s undeniably perfect in my opinion. I want anyone who supports me to know that each song is derivative of authentic life experiences.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I believe a story that illustrates my resilience would be when my cousin Jordan Demery passed away due to an accidental fentanyl overdose. I believe everyone in my family showed proof of resilience in our own way. One of our last and most meaningful conversations that we had were about following our dreams creating what was meaningful to us in hopes of creating generational wealth for our family. I can vividly remember sitting in my grandmothers house after we all got the news, we cried together. My grandmother reminded us that we had to be strong at the time and keep in mind how he would want us to carry on which caused me to reflect on the conversation I had with him before his passing. I wiped my tears away and began writing my ep titled “Crybaby” partly because I know he would’ve wanted me to continue what we discussed but mostly so my family could have something to hold onto.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
What I find to be most rewarding about being a creative are the times I was so grateful to experience people who have shared with me that my music has actually helped them.
