We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brianna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
As far as my industry goes I would have better training for students who are seeking a career in journalism. Have meetings with professors and professionals at tv/radio stations to come up with a plan to better prepare students for the working world I think it happens far too often, that what some were taught in school is not what they are required to know for their employer.
I’m a high school and college mentor.
I’ve seen firsthand how their schooling could clash with what’s being taught or required In the working world. I want to change that and help more students be better prepared.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started out in radio/tv in college. I volunteered at the station on campus and fell in love. From there I interned at a radio station doing everything I could get my hands on and learn! I would sneak into the different radio studios and sit with the talent and just ask questions and learn as much as possible.
Fast forward I got a job at a public radio station, then a year later a commercial station.
I’ve done just about everything!
In 2016, I added on television, working in production. I worked in various positions and then did a writing test to become a news producer and that’s what I’ve been doing since 2019.
My brand blackmediamoguls is everything media! Short and sweet!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Most people that follow me already know my story or somewhat of what I do so that’s how my following came about. But I’ve also gone live, did reels and video and different things to keep interest! Social media presence is all about relevance and consistency. What problem are you solving and the tools you have to do it!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My creative brand came about because I was tired of being looked over. There were times were others would get positions I applied for or scheduled events would get cancelled and so on. I wanted a platform where my creativity would grow and people would see what Bree is really all about! But also help the younger generation who’s interested in this career field!
