We recently connected with Brianna Richardson and have shared our conversation below.
Brianna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I do. I never saw myself being a business owner per se and only saw myself getting into aesthetics potentially once I had a family. But after working as a nurse through the pandemic everything changed for me. I was burnt out, not sleeping & starting to have major anxiety when clocking in. I knew things needed to change & that I needed to be happy while protecting my mental health. Keep in mind that I have zero business background but I am so happy that I trusted myself, my abilities & God & made this leap. Sometimes you have to bet on yourself & leave what was once “comfortable”; growth doesn’t come from being stagnant and scared.

Brianna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Bri and I’m a Nurse Injector & the Owner of GloMar Aesthetics. I have been a nurse for 8 years with a background in Mother Baby Nursing. After working bedside through the pandemic I decided to take a leap & invest in my certifications and from there GloMar was born. GloMar is dedicated to both of my grandmothers who are some of the most regal women I know. I want my business & space to be a representation of strength; where every client acknowledges their worth.
Injectables are still somewhat “hush-hush” and I hope to change that narrative. I offer multiple injectable services: Botox, Dermal/Facial Filler, IV therapy, Vitamin Injectables, Microneedling, Weightloss Management & more.
During each appointment I strive to make my client feel that their appointment time is about them. Injectables are another form of self care & whether you want to vent, a silent appointment or whatever I can do that.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Working through the pandemic at the hospital and as a charge nurse forever changed me. It was one of the scariest, most uncertain times and once the dust settled I knew things had to change. I decided to spread my wings and behind travel nursing. I met amazing people and enhanced my skills but still felt like I needed more.
After a couple of years I decided to invest my travel earnings into my injector certifications and it was the best decision I made.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Not to worry about anything else but yourself and the business. Someone once told me that you often see a Walgreens across from a CVS but that does stop either from being successful. Point being, there will always be a million other service providers (with more money, a bigger clientele etc) but what are you going to do to set yourself apart and make your business unique?
