We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Merschoff recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brianna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success in my business means helping my customers succeed. I think it takes confidence in your own strategies and work. Also, understanding what the client needs. Understanding that their time is money, as well as mine. Clients hire me to take a load off their backs, them always thinking about how they could be doing more. I make short form contact for their social media. Social media is the new business cards, understanding social media trends and algorithm also to me, is being successful. It takes creativity and skill. Lastly, I would definitely say you need consistency to be successful. Consistency following up with current clients, marketing to new clients, and updating your own business/social media to keep up with the fast moving trends.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi I’m Bri! I live on LongIsland and my short-form content business is built for today’s fast-paced, content driven world. Where every business needs a social media presence because business cards are out, and video is in. I offer pay-per-task services, so you don’t have to commit to overwhelming packages, you just get what you need, when you need it. I create and edit 30-second videos with quick turnaround, taking the stress off your plate so you don’t have to worry about filming, editing, or posting. I’ve been passionate about video since I was a kid, making pretend vlogs and editing just for fun. Now, I’ve turned that love into a business that fills a real need. What sets me apart is that I genuinely get it and love it! I understand trends, algorithms, and how powerful social media can be for your brand. I’m not just making content, I’m becoming a team member for your brand.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think being consistent and truly understanding the importance of a social media presence. Learning that this was a skill, that gave me confidence to keep going. Reaching out to clients, being right there for their questions and listening to their ideas. That then led me to make real relationships with my clients. That helped me get a good reputation.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think more non-creative people don’t fully see the ideas and visions I may have for their brand. They hire me to create content, start to grow their social media presence, but then never follow through with posting or take a little but too much control. Also, sometimes they shuffle to see time is money. Their time running their business is money, as well as mine. I think people are quick to rush your creative process, but they hired me and my skill for a reason.
