Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna LaShae. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brianna LaShae, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally is when I was a child and was always asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I would always tell everyone a professional dancer. I never really had dreams of having a regular job like a doctor or lawyer. I was a very quiet child because I grew up as an only child so dance was always something that allowed me to express myself through my movements. I even had a phase where I wrote music and I took it very serious, I made sure to express how I was feeling through my lyrics. It was always easy for me to write songs.
So as I became older, I continued dancing but started to love recording myself, my everyday experiences, and taking a lot of pictures. I always recorded videos and kept them but I started doing Youtube in high school, but never really became consistent until I was in college. I wish I would have been consistent back then because I know my platforms would be so big now.
I’ve always been a creative, I just had to find my niche and stick to it. I don’t do it for the attention or the benefits I love creating content because years from now it’ll serve as memories that will be unmatched and amazing to always look back at.
The creative world has always been my world whether it was music, dancing, or creating content videos for my supporters.
Brianna LaShae, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Brianna LaShae and I am born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. I am a lifestyle micro-influencer that vlogs and shares my everyday experiences with my audience. I got into the creative industry by initially vlogging my everyday life while in college. After I graduated, I fell in love with fashion & I slowly started to enter the fashion world and create fashion content as well.
I recently relaunched my business Sleek Unique Collection that originally started off as a 25mm mink lashes company. Sleek Unique Collection now offers 12A Grade RAW VIRGIN Hair bundles with frontals and closures. We have 4 different textures (Straight, Body Wave, Deep Wave, and Curly) that range all the way up to 28inches. My goal is to eventually add wigs to the site as well. My business is locally in Atlanta, Ga but does offer world wide shipping. My brand is not only a hair company, but we have many many more items dropping very soon. So stay tuned!
I am most proud of my audience and supporters that I have gained from my social media platforms. They are one of the reasons I go so hard and never stop because of all the constant support and encouragement they send my way. I don’t consider my audience as fans and I never will because they’re more than just fans. I have built too many strong relationships to put them in that category,
I want my supporters to know that they will always get the real, uncut, and authentic Brianna LaShae. I want my supporters to connect with me personally and know that beyond the glam I am a real person just like them. One main reason why I love Youtube and sharing personal experiences is because I have helped so many people just off of how much they can relate. And that’s exactly what I want my audience to do, I want them to watch my videos and know that they will be able to relate & gain something good.
My content is more than just videos or pictures, the connections that I have built with my supporters will last a lifetime.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by just believing in myself and staying consistent. I am still not a big influencer, but I’ve done so much this far and there’s no stopping me now. Checking and understanding your analytics is super important when trying to build a social media presence. There’s a lot more than just posting, be intentional is key.
My main advice would to be don’t compare yourself to other creatives because there are so many and you don’t know what they went through to get there. Being intentional about what you post and being consistent will get you a very long way. Also planning out your content and making a schedule is super important. When first starting just believe in yourself and everything will eventually fall into place.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is just the reactions you get from your audience and seeing your content do so good in the algorithm. This allows me to know that my planning, time, and energy I put into my content has paid off. Being a creative can be very hard and discouraging but if you keep going it’ll be worth it in the end.
