We recently connected with Brianna Higgs and have shared our conversation below.
Brianna, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
Raynell Stewart aka Wuzzam Supa the CEO of The Crayon Case is my hero/biggest influence. The lessons she has taught myself and others around the world is “There’s no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs”. I took that quote as everything you do for your business will take hard work, discipline, and dedication. You have to stay consistent with your business to see results. You have to do things you haven’t done before in order to be successful. She has influenced my journey tremendously. Stay consistent and get a team who wants to see you win. You can not do everything by yourself. You can not make it to the top without a team. She hired her family members to help get to where she is now. That’s very inspiring to put your family in positions to help you win.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Brianna Lashae and I’m the CEO of Dear Beauty LLC. I started Dear Beauty in 2019 in dedication to my late maternal grandmother, Beauty Mae. I always had a love for the beauty industry including hair, make up, & nails. I taught myself how to braid at the age of 13. I enrolled in cosmetology school in 2019 and finished the program in 2020. In 2021, I became a licensed cosmetologist. During school, I taught myself how to to construct wigs on the sewing machine without prior knowledge of the sewing machine. Dear Beauty helps people enhance their natural beauty by offering hair care services, hair products, beauty accessories, and custom made wigs. Dear Beauty hair products are 100% vegan friendly and made with natural ingredients. I work to make sure my customers/clients are 100% satisfied with my products and services. My job is to make customers/clients feel beautiful about their self without altering their beauty. I aim to enhance the customer/client beauty. I offer my professional opinion and complete the services. I take time out to learn each & everyone of my customers/clients. I’m most proud of finishing cosmetology school & passing the exam. I studied everyday for two months straight and I passed the exam on my first try. Dear Beauty is operated out of Hollywood, Florida.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by promoting my business, getting friends & family to share my work, and engaging with others who like the beauty industry. Promoting yourself is huge in the beauty industry. I continue to make videos for content with the trending songs. You have to continue to give your followers content. You have to make them to want to continue to follow you. Promote on every social media platform you have. Make videos, do questions & answers post, show how to use your products.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Once I finished cosmetology school, I found out I was expecting my first child. My energy was very low and I couldn’t run my business. I put my business on hold for my entire pregnancy. At the end of my pregnancy, I decided to rebrand my business and rebuild my clientele. I relaunched my hair products with a new look, i rebranded my logo, and start offering hair care services again. I’m happy I was able to jump back in the industry I love.
