Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna Gregory. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brianna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
As a face paint business owner and freelance illustrator, my legacy is about creating memorable experiences through my artistic talents. I want to be remembered for giving people of all ages the moment to feel special through my face painting sessions. It’s a moment of transformation, where they can become whoever they want to be, even if it’s just for a little while. Whether it’s for a birthday party or a corporate event, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where people can let loose and have fun.
As a freelance illustrator, I have the ability to create stunning visual narratives that can educate, inspire, and entertain people around the world. Whether I am creating illustrations for a children’s book or improving my character design portfolio for animation; I am committed to practicing my craft and learning new techniques that will leave a lasting impression on my clients and their audiences. My passion for my craft will continue to inspire other’s to pursue their own line of work.
My legacy is built on the ability to use my creative skills to make the world a more beautiful and enjoyable place, one face paint and illustration at a time. By bringing joy, happiness, and a sense of magic to people’s lives, I have left a positive impact on those I have touched through my work. I will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who created memorable experiences and made people feel special, regardless of their age.

Brianna , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
ArtcentricBri Face Painting provides Face Painting and Dress-Up services to the DMV (DC, MARYLAND, VIRGINIA) area, bringing joy to families and friends. Within the two years of starting this business, we have collaborated with ArtstellaProductions, Swan Princess Events, and DMVChildrensEntertainment as one of their face painters. We provide memorable moments, happy guests, and warm smiles at every event. Our goal is to be a part of your event and add the magic of face paint to bring laughter and unforgettable moments.
As a face painter, I try new ways to improve in a short amount of time. For example, I was hired as a Make-Up Artist for Six Flags Fright Fest 2022, where I painted over 50 scare actors each day. This allowed me to learn airbrush techniques and use an arrangement of paints. I solve problems for my clients by creating a Google form that provides me with all the necessary details before confirming a booking. This allows both of us to stay informed at all times leading up to the event to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
What sets me apart from others is my ability to paint both adults and children at every event. I love seeing the excitement and happiness on the faces of those I paint, and I am always grateful to have been chosen as their guest face painter of the day. At ArtcentricBri Face Painting, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality face painting services to bring a smile to every face. We want potential clients to know that we want to be a part of their event and help make it a memorable one.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my social media presence by starting on Instagram and joining Facebook Groups for face painters to learn more about the industry. This led to me creating a Facebook page for my business and actively posting for feedback. It’s important to get feedback to improve and practice what’s needed the most. In my second year, I learned the benefits of setting up a business with Google to improve SEO and make it easier for clients to find me. My advice to those building their social media presence is to consistently post quality content, engage with your audience, and seek feedback to improve your craft. Remember, building a presence takes time and effort, but the rewards are worth it in the end.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I saved up $600 to initially start up my business towards the end of the pandemic. With that money, I invested in TAG brand paints as they are known for their high-quality and vibrant colors, which adds a professional touch to my work. and purchased a starter kit that included a variety of colors. After my first face paint event, I invested in a travel cart so it’s easier to set up and put away my paint kit. This not only made my job easier but also created a more professional appearance for my clients. It’s essential to invest in your business and continue to improve your equipment and techniques to create a better experience for your clients. I created an Instagram page and business cards to spread the word about my services. Through hard work and dedication, I was able to grow my business and expand my reach within the DMV area.
