Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna Garrett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Brianna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?

In the past year I have been able to make a full-time living from my creative work, but it certainly didn’t happen over night and it is still navigating a unique lifestyle. It really took a leap of faith to do what I love full-time, quitting my corporate job and dedicating my full attention and investment into the business. I’m grateful that other flow artists saw my passion and talent and recommended me for jobs and connections that have made a huge impact on my business. When I first started Bubbles R Fun, we only had one wand style, that was made for adults as it had glass components, since then we now have a variety of specialty bubble wands and offer a wide-range of services. The services that the company offers is what has made the business much more sustainable. I think everything with the business has happened just at the right time, we were able to navigate through Covid and now people need play, fun and Zen in their life more then ever!

Brianna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Bubble Bri and I was introduced to giant bubble making from my mom going to a garden party and seeing it done. When we first started the business I hasn’t ever heard the term Flow Arts or Bubbleologist. Flow Arts has been such a game changer for my whole world, it has opened me up to a world of movement medicine with fellow weirdos I can truly connect with. Flow Arts is defined as a unique art form combining object manipulation with dance. I find it the beautiful combination of decorating time and space! Being a Bubbleologist is simply a person who is trained in the art of creating and studying bubbles. Performing and spreading bubble fun with others is such a special gift I feel very blessed to share.

I am incredibly proud of our small netted, one handed wand that was designed with a special little girl in mind, this wand was made with the idea that there are no limitations to bubble play, that everyone can enjoy them! We ensure our customers can go on to have bubble fun forever by giving the special bubble mix recipe with the purchase of any bubble wand! Endless Bubble Fun for the whole family was always the mission for the business. We encourage play!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me the most rewarding aspect is always seeing the smiling faces from those enjoying the bubbles and hearing. It makes me so happy to see a family playing and laughing together, if the bubbles can get a teenager laughing and playing, they truly are magical!

Hearing a story from a previous client this summer, reminded me why we do what we do. She had purchased a wand from us back in 2019, one of our very first art festivals and she said that when their family was struggling to connect with their autistic daughter it was the bubbles that brought them together. She said the family has spent hours playing with the bubbles over the years and nothing could warm my heart more to hear that the bubbles helped their family to connect.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Have fun, be creative and don’t be afraid to look silly! Audiences want to get to know you and your business.

It’s a forever learning process as there is always new platforms and apps to learn. Don’t overwhelm yourself, start small and go from there. Make sure to connect and clap for others the same way you would want them to support you. I built up my Instagram following my always having an active story, having more posts and reels. I am slowly but surely diving into Tik Tok and working to have a more consistent Social Media presence.
